According to BGR , the new Apple Pencil offers a USB-C interface for charging and pairing - a difference from its predecessor. The product has a matte finish with flat edges that allow it to magnetically attach to the side of the iPad for convenient storage.
The new Apple Pencil’s USB-C interface is a notable change that simplifies pairing and charging. To charge or pair the new stylus, users will find a USB-C port under its sliding cover. When magnetically attached to the iPad, the stylus goes into sleep mode to save power.
Apple emphasizes that the new Apple Pencil offers users low latency and tilt sensing, making it ideal for tasks like note-taking, drawing, annotating, and journaling. The stylus is designed to provide a seamless creative experience and is pressure-insensitive.
The stylus also supports the latest iPadOS features, including writing on the go, quick memos, and collaboration in the Infinity Notes app. When used with M2-powered iPad Pro models, it even supports hovering for more precise drawing.
The cool thing about the third-generation Apple Pencil is that it's compatible with a variety of iPad models that have a USB-C port, including the iPad (10th generation), iPad Air (4th and 5th generation), 11-inch iPad Pro (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations), 12.9-inch iPad Pro (3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th generations), and iPad mini (6th generation).
The Apple Pencil USB-C costs $79 (or $69 with an education discount) and will be available in early November.
