An Phuoc is the first model new rural commune of Mang Thit district.

An Phuoc Commune, Mang Thit District, Vinh Long Province was recognized as meeting the new rural commune standards in 2016 and meeting the advanced new rural commune standards in 2021. Implementing the model new rural commune in 2024, An Phuoc Commune has developed a plan to maintain and improve the quality of the advanced new rural commune criteria, ensuring 19/19 criteria according to the set of advanced new rural commune criteria for the period 2021 - 2025.

With favorable natural and socio-economic conditions, the whole commune has 77 production facilities including 06 brick production facilities using Hoffman technology with 32 kilns, 06 continuous firing facilities with 144 kilns, 01 glazed ceramic facility, 01 unburnt brick facility and brick production facility using traditional kilns in operation, 01 garment processing enterprise, 01 food processing enterprise, 01 shipbuilding facility.

In the field of agriculture and aquaculture, in addition to rice production to ensure food security, the Commune Steering Committee has supported farmers to renovate gardens and expand the area of ​​high-quality fruit trees with the application of science and technology in production. The current garden area is 844.96 hectares, of which the fruit-bearing garden area is 724.6 hectares. In livestock farming, there is strong development in scale, quantity and quality, especially contract farming. In the commune, there are currently 109 contract farming farms (09 pig farms and 100 chicken farms), besides there are 11.66 hectares of aquaculture (catfish, expanding the farming of egg-laying eels, frog breeds and meat frogs, ...). The commune has 02 cooperatives operating in the fields of agriculture and aquaculture and 07 durian production cooperatives, of which 01 group has been granted a domestic growing area code, the remaining 06 groups are being supported with durian growing area codes for export to China, 01 group is supported with traceability using QR code; there are 03 OCOP products.

The whole commune has 472 individual business households, An Phuoc market and Ba Dong market are operating effectively economically. The market management board arranges and assigns small traders to buy and sell in the right locations, meeting food safety market standards. Types of services such as passenger and cargo transportation, accommodation, food and beverage, etc. are developing strongly. The average income per capita of An Phuoc commune in 2024 will reach 79.69 million VND/person/year.

The commune has 3/3 schools with environmental education models and waste classification in schools. The learning community of the commune is evaluated and classified as "Good". The commune has 02 flower roads in Phuoc Thuy hamlet and Phu An hamlet, 04 km long, growing flowers: banana wormwood, white cotton, and night-blooming cereus, which are currently in the development stage and have beautiful flowers, attracting visitors. The whole commune has 3,044/3,044 households collecting and classifying waste, reaching 100%. The rate of households classifying solid waste at source is 1,550/3,044 households, reaching 50.91%. The commune steering committee has deployed 02 pilot models of waste classification at source in Phuoc Thuy hamlet (44 households) and Phu An hamlet (25 households) to implement the model of classifying domestic solid waste at source.

Hamlet officials have applied digital transformation platforms of the government such as: Portal for receiving and responding to people's opinions https://congdan.vinhlong.gov.vn, Smart Vinh Long application; Zalo channel of Vinh Long digital government; Facebook channel of Vinh Long province's digital transformation; commune electronic information page; online public service portal of the province, etc. to carry out information and propaganda work in the hamlet. In addition, Phuoc Thuy hamlet has established a Community Digital Technology Team to propagate the province's digital transformation platforms and deploy them to the people. Create 04 Zalo groups of the hamlet to manage internal activities, of the Party cell and groups of mass organizations to guide people to access applications serving digital transformation.

The whole commune has 137 enterprises and business registration establishments, of which 37/137 households have applied information technology in production and business, reaching 27%. The rate of people of working age who are popularized with knowledge about using computers and basic digital skills is 79.23%. The rate of adults in the commune who have online payment accounts and can pay for essential services such as electricity, water, telecommunications - information technology services, tuition fees, medical examination and treatment is 61.18%.

With the results achieved on December 31, 2024, the Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2756/QD-UBND recognizing An Phuoc commune, Mang Thit district as meeting the model new rural standards in 2024. This is the first commune in Mang Thit district to meet the model new rural standards./.
