In recent days, cheese coin cakes have become a trendy food, sought after by many young people. Snack groups on social networks are constantly sharing "hot" places selling this type of cake.
At Anh Duc bakery (District 4, Ho Chi Minh City), despite the hot weather, there were still many students lining up to buy coin cakes.
Although it is not rush hour, the bakery is still very crowded with customers.
Students line up to buy bread
Minh Tai, a student at a nearby middle school, said this was his third time buying the cake. "At first, I just bought it to try out of curiosity, but I didn't expect to be hooked after eating it. The first time I came here, I only waited for about 5 minutes, but the next times I had to wait in a very long line," Minh Tai shared.
After finishing her school exam, Quynh Tho, a student at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, rushed to the store determined to buy some bread. Tho said she had lined up many times but had to give up halfway.
"Because it wasn't rush hour, it only took me about 20 minutes to get the cake. Every time I picked up my phone and scrolled through Tiktok, I was flooded with videos about coin cakes that made me want to try them," Tho said.
The coin cake is shaped like a coin as big as a hand, with shredded cheese inside. Each cake costs 25,000 VND.
Many people do not mind the long distance to buy and enjoy this new type of cake. During peak hours, customers have to wait for hours for their turn.

Having just bought the cake, Ms. Ngoc Huong (Binh Tan District) happily called her daughter to let her know. She said she had to go 4 times to buy the cake, each time the line was 30-40 people long. "I am nearly 50 years old but still love to eat this cake, let alone the children. This time I bought 4 cakes for my daughter to eat freely" - Ms. Huong happily said.
Ms. Vu Thi Hien, the bakery owner, said that revenue on peak days can reach up to 40 million VND. After selling bread in the morning, Ms. Hien will mix flour to sell coin cakes. Although she has only been selling for about a month, she has already had a steady and enthusiastic customer base.

There are many places in Ho Chi Minh City that sell this type of cake, but only a few places are "on top" of searches. Many people are willing to wait for hours just to buy the most "standard" cake.
"At first, I just tried to sell it to see how the market would be, but I didn't expect this type of cake to be so "hot". Currently, my shop is open until midnight. There are days when customers come in to buy cakes at almost 1am" - Ms. Hien said.
There are still a lot of people coming to buy in the evening.
