At least 6 people were killed and many others were in critical condition after a serious stabbing incident occurred on the afternoon of April 13 in Sydney, Australia.

According to Australian police, the incident left 6 people dead and 8 people hospitalized, including a 9-month-old baby.
Authorities quickly sealed off the Westfield Bondi Junction Shopping Centre. Police are also urgently gathering information and investigating the incident.
According to initial information, the suspect is 40 years old, lives nearly 20km from the crime scene and carried out the attack independently.
In a statement the same day, Prime Minister Albanese described the Sydney shopping centre attack as a horrific act of violence targeting innocent people on an ordinary Saturday.
The leader also praised the police officer who confronted and took down the attacker. According to New South Wales Police Assistant Commissioner Anthony Cooke, the attacker raised a knife at the officer and she opened fire.
The stabbing attack at Westfield Bondi Junction shopping centre has sent shockwaves across Australia - a country where mass casualty incidents are rare.
