On the morning of March 5 (Vietnam time), President Donald Trump announced to the US Congress that he would grant a 13-year-old boy special status to become an honorary member of the US Secret Service.

Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel, 13, is a miraculous cancer survivor who, according to President Donald Trump, "always dreamed of being a police officer" and has an inspiring story.

CNN quoted Mr. Trump: "In 2018, DJ was diagnosed with brain cancer. Doctors said he had only 5 months to live. Since then, DJ and his father have tried to make his dream of becoming a police officer come true. DJ has been inaugurated as an honorary police officer many times and police departments love him very much."

Before Congress, President Donald Trump immediately directed Mr. Sean Curran - Director of the US Secret Service - to make Daniel an honorary secret agent.

"Tonight, DJ Daniel, we are going to give you a great honor. I am asking our Secret Service Director, Sean Curran, to officially make you an honorary Secret Service agent of the United States. Thank you, DJ," Trump said.

Immediately, Mr. Curran awarded the boy a badge while lawmakers in the US Congress excitedly chanted "DJ, DJ".

Along with DJ Daniel, President Trump also mentioned the story of a high school senior - Jason Hartley - who wants to continue his father's legacy and attend the US Military Academy at West Point (New York).

President Trump surprised young Jason by telling him that his application had been accepted, and he was joining the corps.

"This boy's father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all in uniform. Jason lost his father, who was a Los Angeles deputy sheriff, when he was a child, and now he wants to continue his family's service," Mr. Trump shared.
