On March 1, information from the People's Committee of Kien Giang province said that Mr. Giang Thanh Khoa - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of this province - had just signed a decision approving the investment project to build a coastal road on the west side of Phu Quoc island.
Accordingly, the coastal road in the west of Phu Quoc island is more than 4.3km long. Of which, the main route is more than 3.5km long, starting from the intersection of Tran Phu street to the end point of the intersection with DT.975B road (Duong Dong - Cua Can - Ganh Dau) with 4 car lanes, 2 lanes for rudimentary vehicles, road surface width of 30m, designed axle load of 10 tons, speed of 50km/h.
This road has 5 main intersections, including: Tran Phu Street intersection, Cach Mang Thang 8 Street intersection, planned road intersection connecting to Tran Phu Street, planned road intersection connecting to the 67.5ha area road and the final intersection with Duong Dong - Cua Can Street.
This road project is in group A, level III traffic and has a total investment of about 3,200 billion VND (from the provincial budget). The project's duration of use for the road surface is more than 10 years; the embankment is more than 30 years. The project implementation progress is from 2025-2029.
The completed road will connect traffic, Phu Quoc international passenger seaport, urban beautification and open a new coastal road as a public beach for tourism, meeting the needs of the community.
Phu Quoc City leaders said that the locality has an urgent document requesting relevant units to conduct a survey to check the current land use status of households within the boundary of the investment project to build a coastal road in the west of Phu Quoc Island.
Including statistics on the expected number of resettlements that need to be arranged, expected resettlement locations and resettlement plans for the people.
