Total tourism revenue is estimated at VND436,500 billion, up 1.3 times over the same period last year.
Ho Chi Minh City leads with revenue in the first 6 months of the year reaching 92.6 trillion VND, up nearly 15% over the same period in 2023. The total number of international visitors to the city is estimated at 2.7 million, up 38% over the same period in 2023 and reaching nearly 45% of the annual plan. Domestic visitors reached more than 17 million, up 4.4% over the same period in 2023 and reaching 45% of the annual plan. To achieve this achievement, the city's Department of Tourism has actively organized and participated in many stimulus events, launched 17 waterway tourism products and promoted the application of information technology in tourism promotion.

Khanh Hoa welcomed nearly as many international visitors as Ho Chi Minh City in the first 6 months of the year, with nearly 2.4 million arrivals, 3.2 times higher than the same period last year. Domestic visitors are estimated at 2.8 million, up 40% over the same period. The large number of visitors brought the province more than 26 trillion VND in tourism revenue, up 97% over the same period in 2023.
Right after Khanh Hoa is Quang Ninh , home to the famous Ha Long Bay, with revenue reaching more than 22.2 trillion VND, up 34% over the same period. The total number of visitors to Quang Ninh reached more than 10.4 million, up 18% over the same period in 2023, of which international visitors reached 2 million.
Famous for its two tourist-attracting beaches, Sam Son and Hai Tien, in the northern region every summer, Thanh Hoa earned more than VND19.8 trillion from tourism in the first 6 months of the year. The total number of visitors is estimated at nearly 10 million, an increase of more than 16% over the same period last year and 71% of the annual plan. International visitors are estimated at more than 261 thousand, an increase of more than 21% over the same period.
Nghe An earned more than 16.6 trillion VND from tourists. In the first 6 months of the year, nearly 5.5 million visitors visited the province, equal to 112% compared to the same period in 2023. International visitors are estimated at more than 48 thousand, equal to 148% compared to 2023.
According to statistics from Da Nang , the most livable city in Vietnam, revenue from accommodation, food and beverage, travel and tourism activities is estimated at over 16 trillion VND. The total number of international visitors to Da Nang in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at 2 million, an increase of more than 40% over the same period last year. Domestic visitors reached 3.1 million, an increase of nearly 18%.
Binh Dinh province is estimated to reach 15 trillion VND, an increase of nearly 97% over the same period last year, and is estimated to welcome 5.6 million visitors. In the first 6 months, Kien Giang welcomed nearly 5.5 million visitors, reaching nearly 60% of the yearly plan, including more than half a million international visitors. Total tourism revenue reached more than 13.3 trillion VND. Of which, Phu Quoc city is estimated to welcome more than 3.3 million visitors, nearly half a million international visitors, bringing in total revenue of more than 11.2 trillion VND. Binh Thuan province in the first 6 months of the year is estimated to welcome more than 4.58 million visitors, domestic visitors accounting for more than 93%. Revenue from tourism activities reached more than 11.8 trillion VND, an increase of 4.31% over the same period last year.
10 provinces and cities with tourism revenue of over VND10,000 billion also recorded a breakthrough growth rate of domestic visitors with an increase of 20% to 40% compared to the same period. Revenue is outstanding compared to other localities with tourism strengths, also growing revenue such as Quang Binh (over VND5,300 billion), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (over VND5,000 billion), Hue (over VND4,000 billion) or Quang Nam (over VND3,800 billion).
The provinces and cities achieved the above growth results partly thanks to open visa policies, attracting international visitors and timely tourism promotion activities. This growth is considered a positive signal for the tourism industry in recovering and developing better than before the pandemic.
