In the bustling atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival, a delegation of Taiwanese (Chinese) sponsors from the non-governmental organization Zhi Shan visited and met with disadvantaged students in Central Vietnam. The trip not only had humanitarian significance but also provided an opportunity for the sponsors to better understand the students’ efforts and the actual situation in the locality.

21 sponsors from Taiwan were in Vietnam on this trip, hoping to meet the students they had supported in person. Despite differences in language and culture, the sponsors had built strong relationships with the students through exchanging letters and greeting cards. This was the first time they had the opportunity to meet in person, and the meeting took place in a warm and emotional atmosphere.

Sponsors and students shared meals and discussed life and study together. Despite the limited time, the care and affection that sponsors showed to the children was undeniable. Many parents expressed their gratitude for the valuable support, helping their children have more opportunities to study.
In addition to meeting with students, the delegation also participated in many other activities organized by Zhi Shan. At Phu Cat Primary School (Thua Thien Hue), the sponsors witnessed the development of the reading movement in the school, partly thanks to Zhi Shan's support program.

In Dakrong District (Quang Tri), the delegation attended the scholarship awarding ceremony and celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with the children at Huong Hiep Kindergarten. Through these activities, the sponsors better understood the importance of scholarships for ethnic minority students, as well as the positive impact of Zhi Shan in improving the quality of local education.
At the end of the trip, the delegation visited Duc Son Social Protection Center (Thua Thien Hue), which cares for children in special circumstances. The thoughtfulness and dedication of the nuns and the Zhi Shan organization towards the children left a deep impression on the sponsors.
