[Photo] Women in difficult circumstances in Hanoi receive free health check-ups

On March 5, 100 women in difficult circumstances or with illnesses in Soc Son district, Hanoi received a free comprehensive health check-up at Medlatec Clinic Hanoi. This activity is part of the campaign "Happy and healthy women, strong community" jointly organized by the Embassy of Israel in Vietnam and the Center for Women and Development.

From early morning, many women were present at the clinic waiting to be examined. They received general check-ups, blood pressure measurements, blood tests, ultrasounds, cardiovascular tests and many other medical services.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly (66 years old, in Xuan Thu commune, Soc Son district) said that this was the first time she had a general health check-up. Her family is near-poor, her husband has dementia, her son had a work accident, and she has to take care of two young children. She has never had the opportunity to have a general health check-up despite her poor health.

"I often have stomach pain and reflux, but have not had a chance to get a thorough check-up. Today, I hope the doctor can advise me on the appropriate treatment. I hope there will be a program like this every year so that I can have regular health check-ups," said Ms. Ly.

Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien (60 years old, same commune) used to have goiter but did not have the opportunity to have a general examination. "I hope there will be more activities like this so that poor women can access better medical services," she said.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen (60 years old, in Kim Lu commune, Soc Son district) commented that the program has practical significance, helping to detect diseases early for timely treatment.

According to the Israeli Embassy in Vietnam, the 100 women who participated in the health check-up on March 5 are the first group of 300 people to be supported in the coming time. These humanitarian activities not only help improve public health but also spread the message about the importance of health care, especially for women in difficult circumstances.
