Every May, tens of thousands of domestic and foreign tourists visit the Kim Lien relic site to pay their respects to President Ho Chi Minh. These days, from early morning, the road leading to Tru village, President Ho Chi Minh’s maternal hometown, and Sen village, President Ho Chi Minh’s paternal hometown, in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province, is packed with people.
Thousands of people lined up neatly, offering fresh bouquets of flowers to Him. Coming to Uncle Ho's hometown, each person had their own feelings and emotions, but all shared a common heart of admiration, gratitude, and remembrance for the immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh - the beloved leader of the nation, a world cultural celebrity.
Stories about Uncle Ho's life and homeland come alive through the gentle, emotional voice of the female narrator. Her distinctive Nghe accent seems to make the stories even more profound.

Currently, the Propaganda and Education Department has 20 staff members, 3 of whom are in charge of management, 3 of whom are in charge of welcoming registered tourist groups, and 17 tour guides in charge of guiding and introducing at Sen Village, Uncle Ho's paternal hometown, Hoang Tru, Uncle Ho's maternal hometown, Hoang Thi Loan's tomb, and Chung Son Temple - where Uncle Ho's relatives are worshiped.
With a strong Nghe accent and the emotion conveyed through each word, each syllable, the charming women brought domestic and international tourists closer to a simple great man at the place where he was born... For them, each group of visitors brought their own emotions, especially foreign visitors. Ms. Nguyen Thi An Vinh, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Education Department of Kim Lien Relic Site, said that she still clearly remembers the story of a visitor from Japan. In 1998, when she first started her career, it was quite cold at that time, this female tour guide was assigned to welcome foreign visitors. Among them, there was an old Japanese man, he attentively listened to the interpreter translating the introduction from the artifacts associated with 5 years of Uncle Ho's childhood in the house of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac in Sen village.
In front of the wooden bed where Nguyen Tat Thanh and his brother slept every night, he stood still for quite a while. According to the explanation, this bed was later lent to a relative by the Vice-Chancellor, but unfortunately a corner was burnt due to burning coal for heating in the winter. When they came back from collecting, the Management Board of the Relic Site sawed off a burnt section. And when he returned to his hometown after 50 years away, he still discovered that the bed was shorter than before.
Ms. An Vinh shares a touching story about a Japanese guest.
“I was quite surprised and stunned to hear this special guest’s request. At that time, when I was introducing the bed, this guest cried and asked, “Can I sit on this bed for a while to find the warmth of President Ho Chi Minh?” Perhaps, he must have loved President Ho Chi Minh very much to have such a special request. It was his special affection that moved me to tears,” Ms. Vinh recalled.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, 48 years old, a female guide at Kim Lien relic site, the end of April to September is the time when there are many big holidays. During this time, students are on vacation, so the number of tourists visiting Uncle Ho's hometown is higher. Although the weather is quite hot at this time, witnessing the emotions of tourists and their feelings for Uncle Ho, the female guides try to convey the most complete information about Uncle Ho and his hometown. Each group of visitors brings different emotions to the guides.
“At the beginning of the year, I received a very special guest from Malaysia. This person spoke Vietnamese fluently. What surprised me more was that this man had a deep understanding of President Ho Chi Minh. This person was moved when visiting the two-room cottage in Hoang Tru village, where he was born. He said that he loved President Ho Chi Minh very much and had read many documents about him. However, he was quite surprised that a great personality like him was born in such a simple place,” Ms. Giang recalled.

No matter where they welcome guests, the tour guides still maintain the typical "heavy" accent of Nghe An. Each sentence, each word, with a voice that carries the sound of their homeland, brings to the listener the feeling of the sincerity, simplicity and deep affection of the people of Nghe An and the homeland of Nghe An.
“Every time we explain to groups of tourists, we have different emotions, always new. The novelty is that each of us renews the story, the way we express ourselves and most importantly, it evokes the emotions of the listeners. When tourists are moved, it means we have succeeded, fully conveying the information and message that touches the hearts of the listeners,” Ms. Giang shared about her job.
Along with the task of participating in guiding at the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site, the tour guides are also assigned the task of propagating and explaining topics about Uncle Ho at units outside the Relic Site such as schools, the army, youth union members... Every year, tour guides are able to attend training courses, learn more about his life and career, do in-depth seminars and listen to more stories about Uncle Ho. With the new task requirements, the tour guide team at the Kim Lien Special National Relic Site constantly learns and improves themselves.
