Successfully disposed of bomb at road construction site in Da Lat

Engineers successfully disposed of a bomb at a road construction site in Da Lat, where workers found the bomb about 1 meter from the road surface.

Authorities organized to move the bomb to a designated disposal site.

On March 22, the leader of the Military Command of Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province , said that the functional forces of Military Region 7 (Ministry of National Defense) and agencies of Lam Dong Province successfully handled the bomb on Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street, Ward 2, Da Lat City. After implementing safety measures, the functional forces organized to move the bomb to the disposal site according to regulations. According to initial information, the functional forces determined that the bomb was of the M117 type, possibly left over from the war.

Previously, as reported by Nhan Dan Newspaper , on the morning of March 14, when workers used an excavator to construct Xo Viet Nghe Tinh Street, Ward 2, Da Lat City, they discovered a 2m long metal object, about 30cm in diameter, lying about 1m from the road surface, suspected to be a bomb.

People present at the scene then reported the incident to the authorities. Upon receiving the news, Lam Dong provincial authorities sealed off the scene, put up security cordons, and waited for the relevant authorities to inspect and handle the situation.
