Mobilizing over 3.3 million People's Public Security officers and soldiers to participate in epidemic prevention and control
At the online conference summarizing the work of COVID-19 prevention and control of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control with localities (morning of October 29), Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Van Tuyen, representative of the Security and Order Subcommittee, said: In the fourth wave of the epidemic alone, the People's Public Security Force (CAND) mobilized over 3.3 million officers and soldiers as the core force to coordinate with agencies and functional forces in controlling and preventing the COVID-19 epidemic. Set up 10,300 teams, quarantine stations and field hospitals with over 560,000 officers and soldiers participating in tracing and zoning for epidemic prevention and control; mobilized thousands of scouts of the Ministry to the grassroots.
Along with that, 11,603 officers and soldiers from units under the Ministry have been mobilized to strengthen the work of ensuring security and order to prevent epidemics at the grassroots level. 1,216 police medical officers have been sent to support epidemic prevention work in localities and have also proactively searched, detected, approached, mobilized, and supported the negotiation process with partners in the production of vaccines, treatment drugs, and medical supplies to prevent epidemics.

The People's Public Security Forces also focused on verifying the capacity of organizations and individuals to provide vaccine aid, thereby actively contributing to vaccine diplomacy and international cooperation in epidemic prevention. During the process of participating in epidemic prevention work, the People's Public Security Forces had more than 6,000 officers and soldiers infected with COVID-19 and 11 comrades died from COVID-19, of which 6 comrades sacrificed their lives while performing epidemic prevention duties.
Notably, the People's Public Security force has nearly 600 reports advising the Party, the State and the National Steering Committee on policies and solutions in epidemic prevention, detecting, handling, and advising on handling nearly 800 cases of participating in mass gatherings related to epidemic prevention work. Attacking and neutralizing tens of thousands of accounts and articles with malicious content propagating on cyberspace, distorting the policies and epidemic prevention work of our Party and State.
The police have administratively sanctioned over 550 subjects for posting false information about epidemic prevention work. They have detected and administratively handled 1,295 cases with 3,232 cases of immigration and exit violations, and administratively sanctioned 459,368 cases of violations of regulations on epidemic prevention work.
With the assigned responsibilities, the police force has proactively coordinated and detected and handled 365 cases with 413 subjects taking advantage of the epidemic prevention policy to carry out acts such as speculating and inflating the selling prices of essential goods serving the epidemic prevention work; smuggling, producing and trading counterfeit goods; and negative and profiteering in the use of epidemic prevention funds.
Police at all levels have prosecuted 37 cases with 104 defendants, administratively sanctioned 220 cases, 222 subjects with a total fine of nearly 3 billion VND. Focus on investigating and strictly handling acts of taking advantage of epidemic prevention policies for negative corruption, especially focusing on directing the effective implementation of cases directed by the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, such as the Viet A case.

16,500 military medical staff to be deployed to localities during the outbreak
According to Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Deputy Minister of National Defense, representative of the Social Security Subcommittee, regarding the resources of the Ministry of National Defense to participate in epidemic prevention, the Ministry has mobilized more than 192,000 officers and soldiers, including medical forces and other forces. Of which, nearly 23,000 people carry out epidemic control work and 6,500 people carry out vaccination work, 116,500 people are in charge of quarantining citizens entering the country and more than 46,000 people are in charge of other tasks (border patrol, ensuring social security, coordinating to ensure security and order, burial, preservation, transportation of corpses...), transporting thousands of tons of goods and vehicles to ensure epidemic prevention.
The Ministry of National Defense has organized to increase 16,500 military medical staff, 205 vehicles and machinery of all kinds to serve localities during the outbreak. In particular, when the outbreak occurred in Ho Chi Minh City, it organized 194 citizen quarantine points, increased 7,252 officers, employees and soldiers to participate in management and service work at 1,228 quarantine points managed by localities, which was highly appreciated by the people.
Along with that, coordinating with localities on border management, illegal immigration, with 13,000 border officers and soldiers. In order to support social security, at the peak time, the entire army mobilized over 230,000 soldiers and militia to participate in epidemic prevention, border control and protection, ensuring security and order, protecting quarantine areas, blockade areas; regulating traffic, transporting social security bags; helping people transport goods, food, harvest crops, agricultural products...
During the epidemic prevention process, we have received funding and support from domestic and foreign organizations and individuals, with a value of more than 70 billion VND. These goods are managed by the military for proper use and when the epidemic is basically under control, they will be handed over to agencies and units for regular use, ensuring proper use.
