At the reception, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San affirmed that the defense cooperation between the two countries in recent times has continued to be effectively implemented in many areas, such as: Exchange of delegations, especially high-level delegations; cooperation in training and coaching of cadres; and enhanced coordination in border management and protection. The functional agencies of the two sides regularly exchange information, organize joint patrols, and coordinate effectively in the fight against cross-border crimes, especially drug crimes and illegal immigration.

Based on the 2023 cooperation plan, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San suggested that in the coming time, the two sides continue to coordinate to comprehensively and effectively implement cooperation contents, focusing on a number of activities: The first Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange at the Defense Minister level; the annual meeting between the three Defense Ministers, etc.

Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San presented a gift to the Lao Deputy Minister of National Defense.

On this occasion, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San congratulated Lieutenant General Vongkham Phommakone on being appointed by the Lao Government and Ministry of National Defense as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Unitel Company; believing that under his leadership, Unitel Company will continue to develop even more strongly, worthy of being a symbol of effective cooperation between the two countries and the two Armies.

Lieutenant General Vongkham Phommakone thanked Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San for taking the time to receive the delegation, and conveyed the greetings of General Chansamone Chanyalath, Politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of National Defense of Laos to General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defense of Vietnam; thanked the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense for coordinating and supporting the Lao Ministry of National Defense in renovating the Laos-Vietnam Combat Alliance Memorial in Xieng Khouang province; and suggested that in the coming time, the two sides continue to focus on promoting the completion of cooperation contents according to the 2023 Defense Cooperation Plan between the two countries.
