Less than a month after the final round of the Hanoi Voice 2024 contest organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, runner-up Dinh Xuan Dat has released his first MV and provided information about upcoming music products.

Dinh Xuan Dat said that the MV Hoan Kiem is his tribute to Hanoi - the place where he lives, studies and grows up. Through it, he wants to introduce a "Hoan Kiem" from his own perspective, imbued with pride but with a gentle, simple and passionate spirit of a young person.

Hoan Kiem is a song written by musician Giang Son with lyrics by Nguyen Vinh Tien. Music critic Nguyen Quang Long commented that this is a good song, expressing the elegant, luxurious but no less romantic beauty of Hanoi.

"However, this is also a difficult song to sing, with high notes, not many singers choose to perform it. It is even rarer for a young artist like Dinh Xuan Dat to choose a song from his homeland and country like Hoan Kiem to try his hand at it," he said.

People's Artist Ha Thuy said Dinh Xuan Dat has a simple, emotional voice. When listening to the MV Hoan Kiem , she "felt that this must be someone with a heart that loves Hanoi to be able to perform a song that touches the listeners' emotions like that".

In the MV, the singer transforms into a young man from another place, holding a camera in his hand, wandering around the streets of Hanoi, capturing beautiful, proud images of Hanoi that every tourist wants to visit at least once.

There are Hoan Kiem Lake, Dong Xuan Market, Long Bien Bridge, Ngoc Son Temple, O Quan Chuong Gate… There are also railway cafes and the old quarter.

On the past steps, the artist looked at Hanoi from many angles, sometimes peaceful, sometimes bustling, to feel more fully the beauty of Hanoi.

These are very familiar images that have been associated with Dat for the past 7 years, since he was a son of Quan Ho Bac Ninh, came to Hanoi to study intermediate vocal music at the Military University of Culture and Arts, and is now a 3rd year student at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

Dinh Xuan Dat was trained in classical chamber music but has a folk element in his blood, so when listening to Dat sing, you can still feel the softness and closeness. Through his performance, Hoan Kiem is a pop song but still has a semi-classical color for that reason.

Possessing a wide and diverse vocal range, Dinh Xuan Dat has many advantages to "swing" musical genres and colors. After the MV Hoan Kiem , Dinh Xuan Dat said he will release his first album early next year. Among them are songs that left an impression at the Hanoi Voice contest: Hoan Kiem, Tre Viet Nam ...

Dinh Xuan Dat was once instructed by artist Van Giap, Meritorious Artist Vu Thang Loi, and Meritorious Artist Hoang Tung.

He is currently the only student in the K66 class of vocal music faculty, Vietnam National Academy of Music, accepted to teach by People's Artist Quang Tho.

He won the runner-up prize in the Hanoi Voice contest last November.
