Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Dinh Hoa said: By the end of 2024, the country will have nearly 15,000 OCOP products. Hanoi is the leading locality in implementing this program with 3,317 certified products (accounting for 22.1% of OCOP products nationwide).

To facilitate the recognition of OCOP products, the city annually organizes events, fairs, seminars, and weekly events to promote the recovery and development of products. In addition, the city has built 16 centers for creating, designing, promoting, and introducing OCOP products and craft villages; and developed 110 points for introducing and selling OCOP products, creating conditions for consumers in the capital to identify and consume products.

However, according to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa, although there are more than 3,300 OCOP products, Hanoi only has 6 products certified as 5 stars. This is a very modest number compared to the potential and advantages of the capital. In 2025, Hanoi aims to strive to submit to the central government for evaluation and recognition of at least 30 more 5-star OCOP products.

The conference is an opportunity for district-level professional agencies; representatives of entities with potential OCOP products to participate in evaluating and classifying 5-star OCOP products to discuss, orient, and remove difficulties and obstacles to participate in evaluation and classification to achieve good results.

At the conference, delegates were informed by Mr. Dang Quy Nhan, Deputy Head of OCOP Department, Central Office for New Rural Area Coordination, about the criteria for evaluating and classifying products; lessons learned from some localities; and instructions on completing the dossier of potential 5-star products. Mr. Dang Quy Nhan also answered questions from the subjects about the preparation of dossiers for evaluating and classifying 5-star OCOP products; enhancing the role and position of OCOP products of the Capital.
