"Ngo Go Ok Race": Journey to discover Khmer culture in Ho Chi Minh City

Young people perform the art of Chan dance at the festival "Ngo Go Ok Race"

On the morning of March 29, the Youth Cultural House became a special cultural meeting place with the event "Ok Om Bok Race". The festival took place from 9am to 5pm, vividly recreating the traditional Ok Om Bok Festival of the Khmer people.

Right from the opening moment, the audience will be able to admire the graceful and sacred art of Robam. This is a type of folk dance with a long history, closely associated with the spiritual life of the Khmer people during important festivals such as Chol Chnam Thmay, Senl Dolta and especially Ok Om Bok (Moon Worshiping Festival).

The appearance of Robam art is not only an artistic performance but also a testament to the depth of Khmer culture, affirming the history of existence and development of the community on this land.

The "Ngo Go Ok Race" festival attracts many young people to participate.

Sharing at the opening ceremony, a representative of the Organizing Committee of the "Ngo Go Ok Race" Festival said that although the scale of the organization is still modest, the festival cherishes the desire to bring a unique cultural space, helping the city's residents and tourists have the opportunity to fully experience the traditional beauty of the Khmer people.
