Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Lien (30 years old) is working on the 20th floor of an office building in Nam Dong ward (Dong Da district, Hanoi) said that when they felt the shaking, many people in the office ran down to the 1st floor. "At that time, I was panicked and didn't know what happened, everyone shouted for each other to run down", Ms. Lien said.
Ms. T., who lives on the 26th floor of an apartment building in Linh Nam, Hoang Mai, Hanoi, said her house shook violently for about 5 minutes. During her nap time, Ms. T. woke up in panic.
"The chandelier, bed, and wardrobe swayed like hammocks. At the time of the strong shaking, my family called each other to hide under the table next to it," said Ms. T.

Similarly, Khuong Duy (living in Hai Ba Trung district) said that at that time he felt the clothes drying rack on his balcony shaking strongly for about 2-3 minutes.

In Ho Chi Minh City, people also reported feeling the tremors. Many office workers rushed to the stairs and ran down to the first floor after feeling the tremors. "Panic" and "not understanding what was happening" were common feelings of many people.
"The first time I felt a strong shaking, my body swayed and I felt a little dizzy. At the same time, the door of my house shook slightly. Seeing everyone in the apartment building running away, I also ran down to the lobby. Not only my house shook, many apartments of the residents where I live also felt the same," said Mr. Trung (in District 10).

"The disaster risk level is level 0," said a representative of the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center.
Director of the Institute of Geophysics Nguyen Xuan Anh said that at 1:20 p.m. on March 28, an earthquake occurred in Myanmar at coordinates 21.71N - 96.02E, affecting Hanoi. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.7 and a focal depth of 10 km.
In Ha Tinh , residents living in high-rise buildings also clearly felt the shaking caused by the earthquake. Ms. Lam Giang (a resident of Winhouse apartment building, Ha Huy Tap ward, Ha Tinh city) said that at around 1:25 p.m. on March 28, while reading a book, she felt dizzy and then the building shook slightly.
“I felt the apartment building shaking, I didn’t know why, then I found out it was an earthquake,” said Lam Giang. Many residents living in the building in Tran Phu ward, Ha Tinh city also experienced dizziness. “Around 1:20 p.m., I suddenly felt dizzy, my eyes were blurred, then the building shook slightly. When I learned that those phenomena were caused by an earthquake, many residents living in the same building were extremely worried,” said a resident.
