That was the theme of the Workshop organized by Ha Giang province in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Tourism Association on March 30.

This is one of the main activities within the framework of the first Ha Giang International Culture, Tourism and Cuisine Festival taking place from March 29 to March 31 in Ha Giang City.
Attending the workshop were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong; Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association Vu The Binh; Embassies of Azerbaijan and China; leaders of Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces/cities; domestic and foreign experts and speakers. On the side of Ha Giang province, there were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duc Quy; leaders of departments, branches and sectors; tourism businesses inside and outside the province.
The workshop was divided into 2 discussion sessions: Positioning and building Ha Giang tourism brand; Managing and developing Ha Giang tourism brand with the participation of speakers who are domestic and foreign tourism experts, economic experts, tourism managers, tourism trainers, and tourism businesses.
Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duc Quy said: Ha Giang has many potentials and advantages to develop tourism. The province aims to make tourism a key economic sector by 2025, attracting over 3 million visitors. By 2030, Dong Van Stone Plateau will be recognized as a National Tourist Area, attracting 5 million tourists; total revenue from tourism is estimated at 20,600 billion VND, contributing 14.34% of tourism value to the total product in the area; creating jobs for over 20,000 direct workers.
Since 2010, when Dong Van Stone Plateau was recognized by UNESCO as a member of the global UNESCO Geopark network. This is the foundation for forming Ha Giang's tourism brand, through exploiting the value of international heritage, associated with preserving and promoting the cultural identity of 19 ethnic groups living in the area.
Recently, the Ha Giang Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, has been approved by the Prime Minister; in addition, the province has implemented many solutions to invest in infrastructure, strengthen management, preserve culture and promote programs. Up to now, the tourism image of Ha Giang province has been affirmed as a brand with its own unique characteristics.
According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Duc Quy, building a brand is difficult, maintaining the brand is even more difficult. Through this workshop, Ha Giang hopes to listen to opinions, suggestions, and experience sharing from experts, managers, and delegates to support the locality in researching, proposing fundamental solutions, overcoming bottlenecks, creating a solid foundation, and maximizing the strengths of tourism resources for Ha Giang to develop greenly and sustainably.
The workshop spent a lot of time discussing and analyzing the current status of major tourist markets and identifying Ha Giang tourism brands for each market; theoretical and practical basis for positioning and branding tourist destinations and lessons for Ha Giang tourism; new challenges in positioning and branding Ha Giang tourism today.
Many opinions proposed solutions to build, position and promote Ha Giang tourism brand, meeting the requirements of sustainable development in the new context; solutions to invest and attract tourism investment, ensuring capacity and ability to receive and serve international tourists; solutions to improve state management capacity and enforce tourism development policies and laws; solutions to develop and improve the quality of core tourism products to create a brand for Ha Giang tourism;...
According to Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, Ha Giang province has strengthened connections with domestic and international localities to promote tourism development associated with preserving and promoting heritage and cultural identity of ethnic groups; Ha Giang has turned difficulties into development opportunities.

With the motto "Close connection - Harmonious coordination - Extensive cooperation - Comprehensive coverage - Sustainable efficiency", Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong suggested that localities in general and Ha Giang province in particular continue to proactively develop practical plans to ensure solutions and remove obstacles to promote tourism development advantages. On this occasion, many collectives and individuals with achievements contributing to the development of tourism in Ha Giang province and having achievements participating in the exhibition booth, organizing the first Ha Giang International Culture, Tourism and Culinary Festival in 2024 received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee. The Organizing Committee awarded First, Second, Third, Encouragement prizes and other prizes to the units participating in the Festival, in which the First prize belonged to the dish "Ruo Da" from Quang Binh district.
At the workshop, delegates performed the ceremony to announce the tourism product "One journey, two parks", linking the UNESCO Global Geopark Dong Van Karst Plateau in Ha Giang province and the UNESCO Global Geopark Non Nuoc Cao Bang.
