Surpassing Seoul, Tokyo, Hanoi becomes "World's Leading Culinary City 2024"

The 5th World Culinary Awards 2024 will be held at Summersalt Jumeirah Al Naseem, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The results of the Awards were announced after a year of searching and evaluation by leading experts in the culinary field and the public.

This year, the capital Hanoi surpassed strong competitors such as Auckland (New Zealand), Cape Town (South Africa), Lima (Peru), Los Angeles (USA), Bangkok (Thailand), Seoul (Korea), Tokyo (Japan) to win two award categories: "World's Leading Culinary City" and "Asia's Leading Culinary City".

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, over the years, Hanoi cuisine has always been loved by domestic and foreign tourists, highly appreciated by international media and received many prestigious international awards.

Hanoi cuisine is particularly sophisticated, from the way of choosing ingredients, each stage of processing, to the way of decoration and even the way of enjoying and eating. The chef always puts a lot of effort into preparing and processing, bringing each dish to be harmonious, beautiful, delicious and unforgettable.

The dishes and drinks considered the culinary quintessence of the capital such as pho, bun cha, banh mi, banh cuon, cha ca, egg coffee... will surely captivate anyone who comes and enjoys them.

This year, Hanoi has won many culinary awards. This proves that the capital is not only attractive with its unique and diverse cuisine but also possesses a system of high-class hotels and restaurants with professional services and highly skilled chefs.

Hanoian culinary artist Nguyen Anh Tuyet also commented that Hanoi dishes are typical of a tropical country with rich agricultural and forestry products. Hanoi dishes have a light, fresh taste but always leave a deep impression on visitors.
