The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport has just sent a document to the Ho Chi Minh City Police regarding traffic regulation at the An Phu intersection (Thu Duc City).

According to the Department of Transport, An Phu intersection (Thu Duc City) is an area with complex traffic, a traffic jam hotspot in Ho Chi Minh City for many years. Here, the traffic density is very high, so traffic jams often occur for a long time, especially on holidays, Tet, and weekends.

Currently, the City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board) is implementing the An Phu Intersection Construction Project with a budget of more than VND 3,400 billion. The investor and contractors are occupying a part of the road to serve the project construction, causing complicated traffic conditions, affecting people's travel.

In addition, when there is an incident on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, the Traffic Police force (Team 6 - under the Traffic Police Department - Ministry of Public Security) blocks at the turning point of Ba Dat bridge, the starting point of the access road to the expressway.

Therefore, cars traveling from An Phu intersection to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway were forced to turn back, causing prolonged congestion at An Phu intersection.

The City Department of Transport predicts that in the coming time, the traffic situation at the An Phu intersection area will continue to be complicated, especially during the implementation of projects across the An Phu intersection area.

Therefore, the Department requested the Ho Chi Minh City Police to coordinate with the Traffic Police Department to study traffic control solutions, including scenarios and situations of congestion on the highway and congestion at the An Phu intersection area.

At the same time, the parties will study a plan to coordinate in handling and limiting traffic congestion at the An Phu intersection and the highway, especially during holidays and Tet.

Continue to adjust traffic to construct the 3,400 billion VND intersection at the gateway to Ho Chi Minh City . Ho Chi Minh City will implement a number of additional solutions to reorganize traffic on many routes, to serve the construction process of the more than 3,400 billion VND An Phu intersection project.
