Dong Nai proposed nearly 2,500 billion VND to invest in Huong Lo 2 route connecting Vam Cai Sut bridge to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, reducing traffic pressure on National Highway 51.
Today (February 19), the Dong Nai Province Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the unit is implementing steps to propose investment policies for the Huong Lo 2 extension project (section 2) about 5.2km long connecting the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway.
The total investment capital is expected to be nearly 2,500 billion VND, of which construction costs are more than 1,400 billion VND, the rest is for site clearance.
A representative of the Provincial Transport Project Management Board said that the unit proposed to advance legal capital to hire consultants to develop investment policies and has recommended the Department of Planning and Investment to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval to speed up progress.
Previously, Dong Nai province invested in the construction of section 1 of Huong Lo 2, connecting from National Highway 51 to An Hoa - Long Hung road, in sync with the Vam Cai Sut bridge project. However, section 2 from Vam Cai Sut bridge to Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway has not been implemented, causing the bridge to be completed but not yet operational due to the lack of connecting roads.
The investment in section 2 of Huong Lo 2 is considered important in completing the traffic infrastructure, connecting Bien Hoa City with the highway, helping to shorten the distance and reduce traffic load on Highway 51.
Regarding the above issue, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha requested relevant units to speed up progress, ensure overall synchronization, and avoid wasting invested resources.
