Vietnam won first place overall at the Asian Police Taekwondo Open Championship

On December 9, at the Quang Ninh Provincial Sports Complex, the 2024 Asian Police Taekwondo Open Championship concluded after 4 days of exciting competition.

The Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to the Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association with 37 Gold Medals, 36 Silver Medals, and 33 Bronze Medals. The Second Prize went to the Indonesian delegation with 7 Gold Medals, 6 Silver Medals, and 4 Bronze Medals. The Cambodian delegation with 4 Gold Medals, 2 Silver Medals, and 1 Bronze Medal won the Third Prize. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded medals to the delegations in the civil expansion category with the First Prize going to JeongJeom University, the Second Prize going to Shinhan University, and the Third Prize going to Daekyung University, all from Korea. During the past 4 days, the athletes gave the audience exciting and dramatic matches with many beautiful, powerful and courageous moves. The most outstanding performances were the athletes from Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, etc.

With the slogan "The Power of Police! Taekwondo Police Protecting the Peace of Global Citizens", the tournament not only stops at sports achievements but also conveys a strong message about the companionship of the Police force in ensuring security and protecting peace. The tournament has contributed to honoring the solidarity of Taekwondo Police, thereby consolidating and enhancing the position of Taekwondo in efforts for the health, safety and happiness of the people; promoting patriotism and national spirit as self-defense martial artists; consolidating the position and image of the police force, developing high-performance sports in the Vietnam People's Public Security. The 2024 Asian Police Taekwondo Open is a continental sporting event hosted for the first time by the Ministry of Public Security of our country in cooperation with the World Police Taekwondo Federation. This is an event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025). The tournament is for law enforcement forces and Taekwondo Clubs in Asia.
