By the end of 2022, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) had trained 1,147 cadres at all levels of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union (LPYU). The trainees have become a bridge to further strengthen the traditional friendship between the two youth organizations in particular and between the Lao and Vietnamese peoples in general.
Spreading friendship from the Youth Union
"The lessons and experiences shared in the training course will be deployed as models and knowledge and experience will be applied to youth work in each field to achieve the highest efficiency for the Youth Union and youth movement in
Laos . We will bring the lessons and experiences to spread to the youth union members in the Youth Union organization of our unit to clearly understand the solidarity, friendship and closeness of the two Youth Union organizations of the two countries" - that is the sharing of the Head of the Economic - Planning Department of the Central Office of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union Sengchanh Onnidar about the Training Course for Key Youth Union Cadres of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, Course 27, 2022. As one of 50 students participating in the Training Course for Key Youth Union Cadres of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union, Course 27, Ms. Sengchanh Onnidar said that she and the students were not only given all favorable conditions in providing information and lessons but also taken good care of in terms of accommodation, food and living. "Living at the academy feels like being at home. Even though the language is different, there is understanding, love, and closeness like a family" - Ms. Senchanh Onnidar shared.

According to the Central Committee
of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union , in the period of 2019 - 2022, 260 key Youth Union officials from district, provincial/municipal Youth Union levels and key Youth Union officials of Central Committees, Ministries and branches of Laos participated in training courses under the Project. Participating in the training courses, trainees shared and exchanged many topics contributing to improving their theoretical level, methods and skills in working with youth and children: the socio-economic development guidelines of the Communist Party of Vietnam; an overview of the political system in Vietnam; Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on education and training of the young generation and the Communist Party of Vietnam's viewpoints on Youth; the organization and building of the Youth Union and the inspection and supervision of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. In addition, trainees gained more understanding about the country, people of Vietnam, Vietnamese youth organizations and the friendly cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Laos in 2022; participate in extracurricular activities, visit economic development youth models, creative startup space models, visit some famous landscapes in Vietnam. By the end of 2022, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union had organized 28 long-term and short-term training courses for 1,147 cadres at all levels of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union.
Expanding the field of cooperation
Through the training courses, the trainees, who are core youth union cadres, have a better understanding of the great tradition of friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam, becoming a bridge to further tighten the traditional friendship between the two youth organizations in particular and between the Lao and Vietnamese peoples in general. The cadres trained in Vietnam have all played their roles well when returning to work in the country, and have been highly appreciated by the leaders of the Party, State and Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union; many comrades have matured and been transferred to higher positions in Party and State agencies and some agencies in the political system of Laos.

Speaking at the meeting with Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union Monexay Laomoaxong on October 9, 2023 in Vientiane (Laos), First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Bui Quang Huy said that the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is developing a project to train and foster youth work for Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union officials in the period of 2023 - 2027; will continue to invite the Lao side to send Youth Union officials to study, research, learn and exchange experiences. The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union is also promoting the construction of a Lao - Vietnamese Youth Training Center in Vientiane. "In the coming time, the youth unions of the two countries need to consider expanding the areas of cooperation, aiming for more diverse cooperation in terms of subjects and fields, such as young doctors, young artists, young journalists, young diplomats, young scientists...; creative start-up activities, digital technology, model exchange on digital transformation, sustainable development, international integration skills", said Mr. Bui Quang Huy. The leaders of the youth unions of the two countries also agreed to continue to promote the effective implementation of the contents of the Cooperation Agreement between the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union for the period 2022 - 2027. In particular, continue to strengthen propaganda activities, raise awareness for the youth of the two countries about the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos. This is an important task, which needs to be carried out regularly and continuously so that the union members and youth of the two countries always remember the history and the special traditional friendship between the two countries.
