On the afternoon of March 20, U22 Vietnam met U22 Korea at Yancheng Olympic Stadium (Jiangsu Province, China), within the framework of the first match of the CFA Team China 2025 Friendly Tournament.

Acting head coach of U22 Vietnam Dinh Hong Vinh fielded a 3-5-2 formation, including: goalkeeper Cao Van Binh, defenders Le Van Ha, Nguyen Hieu Minh, Nguyen Nhat Minh, midfielders Nguyen Hong Phuc, Nguyen Xuan Bac, Nguyen Phi Hoang, Nguyen Van Truong, Viktor Le, strikers Nguyen Quoc Viet, Nguyen Thanh Nhan.

In the first 20 minutes of the match, U22 Korea chose an aggressive style of play, constantly pressing and forcing the U22 Vietnam team to play deep in their own half.

The first notable situation of U22 Vietnam happened in the 20th minute. After a quick transition, Thanh Nhan took a decisive long-range shot but could not defeat the Korean goalkeeper.

The ball bounced right to Quoc Viet's reach, and he shot into the empty net. But then the referees caught Quoc Viet offside, and the goal was disallowed for U22 Vietnam.

After this situation, the students under coach Dinh Hong Vinh played more confidently and achieved a fairly balanced game against U22 Korea. The strong point in the playing style of U22 Vietnam is the situations of transitioning, organizing sharp and fast attacks thanks to the speed of Thanh Nhan and Quoc Viet.

After many efforts, the turning point for U22 Vietnam took place in the 53rd minute. From a smooth coordination with his teammates, Thanh Nhan fired a low, dangerous shot to open the score 1-0 for U22 Vietnam.

In the final minutes of the match, U22 Vietnam played resiliently, determined to maintain the score.

But at the 90th minute, U22 Korea equalized 1-1 thanks to Jeong Jae Sang. This was also the final score of the match.

Despite losing the victory, the performance of U22 Vietnam deserves praise. Especially when the squad under the leadership of coach Dinh Hong Vinh is not the best force at present.

According to the match schedule, U22 Vietnam will continue to meet U22 Uzbekistan (March 23) and U22 China (March 25).
