U22 Vietnam draws with Korea

U22 Vietnam had a good start with 1 point against Korea.

In the first match of the CFA Team China 2025 friendly tournament held in China, U22 Vietnam took the field with a lineup that included many familiar faces, with Cao Van Binh, Nguyen Van Truong, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Quoc Viet and Nguyen Hong Phuc. New Vietnamese-American player Viktor Le was trusted to start.

In the first 20 minutes, U22 Korea played fiercely, constantly approaching and pressuring U22 Vietnam. The students of acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh steadfastly defended and occasionally launched quality counterattacks.

In the 20th minute, U22 Vietnam had a clear chance, when Thanh Nhan shot beautifully from afar, forcing the Korean goalkeeper to struggle to block. The ball bounced right into Quoc Viet's path and the Hai Phong native easily tapped it into the net. Unfortunately, U22 Vietnam's goal was not recognized because Viet was offside.

Facing an opponent with superior physique, strength and technique, the U22 Vietnam players still played confidently, trying to regain control of the game. The team had more counter-attack opportunities at the end of the first half but were unable to take advantage of them.

In the 53rd minute, after a well-coordinated counterattack, Thanh Nhan shot low from outside the penalty area, sending the ball dangerously beyond the reach of the Korean goalkeeper, opening the score 1-0 for U22 Vietnam.

After conceding the goal, U22 Korea changed personnel and continued to attack aggressively in search of a goal. U22 Vietnam focused on defense and kept the net clean until the 90th minute when they were equalized.

However, 1 point on the opening day against a strong opponent is not too bad a result for U22 Vietnam.
