At 2:00 p.m. on March 20, Hai Khe Commune Police (Hai Lang District, Quang Tri) handed over the property of 2 round gold rings, worth 1 tael, to Mr. Truong Van Sung (34 years old, from Tham Khe village, Hai Khe commune, currently living in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa).
Previously, at 11:30 a.m. on March 17, Hai Khe Commune Police received information from Mr. Le Hong Hanh (36 years old, residing in Hai Khe Commune) about his son, Le Thanh Tinh, and classmate Tran Thi Linh Dan (both in class 4B at Hai Khe Primary and Secondary School) having picked up 2 round metal links, yellow in color, suspected to be gold weighing 1 tael.
Mr. Hanh has handed over the found property to the police for handling according to regulations.
Through verification, the authorities confirmed that the above property belongs to Mr. Sung.
Receiving his property back, Mr. Sung said that on the morning of March 16, he and his wife borrowed 2 gold rings, worth 1 tael, from relatives to sell as business capital.
Because the couple left early and the gold shop was not open yet, they went to Khe Che Lake (Dien Sanh town, Hai Lang district) to watch the boat race to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of this district.
At this time, around the lake there is a "sea of people" watching and cheering on the boat race.
Due to carelessness, this man lost his property and reported it to the police. The couple went back to look for it but could not find it. The owner cried his eyes out because he lost a large amount of property.
"I sincerely thank the two students and the police force for their dedication to the people," Mr. Sung confided.
