In recent times, the Party Committee of Van Don district has always focused on leading and directing the work of Party building and rectification. In particular, it has paid special attention to improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members, associated with building a streamlined political system and apparatus that operates effectively and efficiently.
The Executive Committee of the Van Don District Party Committee issued Resolution No. 16-NQ/HU (July 6, 2023) on improving the leadership capacity, fighting strength of party organizations, grassroots party organizations and the quality of party members by 2025, with a vision to 2030. The Resolution has been thoroughly grasped and widely deployed to grassroots party cells and committees for implementation.
Party committees and organizations at all levels in the entire district Party Committee have focused on leading and directing the innovation of the Party's work, methods, style and working manner in activities, fully and seriously implementing the principle of democratic centralism, innovating the Party's leadership methods in conjunction with maintaining solidarity, unity and strengthening discipline within the Party; focusing on devoting time to studying and researching theories; conducting self-criticism and criticism in conjunction with implementing Resolution of the 4th Central Committee (12th tenure) on Party building and rectification and Directive 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.
Party committees at all levels, cadres, party members, especially leaders, have proactively built a scientific, objective, democratic, close-to-the-people, people-respecting, people-serving, practical working style, saying goes with doing; Party cells under grassroots party committees have seriously maintained regular meetings on the 3rd of every month, and must complete the Party cell meetings by the 10th at the latest. The content of the Party cell meetings has been seriously and thoughtfully prepared by the Party cell committees and has been comprehensively innovated. Therefore, it has created an attraction for Party members to participate in the meetings (90% of Party members participated) and there have been many enthusiastic and responsible opinions participating in building Party cell resolutions in the spirit of solidarity, promoting the pioneering and exemplary role of Party members.
Party committees and party organizations in the entire district Party Committee regularly promote the spirit of self-inspection and internal supervision to find out limitations and shortcomings for timely correction and improvement. This has helped the Party committees and party organizations grasp more clearly the political ideology, ethics and lifestyle of each cadre and party member, thereby promptly detecting and preventing party members who show signs of violations, "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party.
Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Head of the Organization Board of Van Don District Party Committee, said: The work of managing cadres and party members is increasingly stricter by the Party Committee and Party organization, each party member is assigned tasks and is regularly inspected and supervised. In addition to receiving tasks at agencies and units, party members in most branches and affiliated party committees also take on the task of taking charge of nearby households, monitoring, helping and motivating people to boost production and comply with the policies and laws of the Party and State. Through these activities, party members have become more aware of setting an example and being exemplary in implementing movements in the locality.
Implementing Directive No. 28-CT/TW (January 21, 2018) of the Secretariat on improving the quality of Party members and reviewing, screening, and removing unqualified Party members from the Party, the Standing Committee of Van Don District Party Committee directed grassroots Party committees and Party cells under grassroots Party committees to review, detect, educate, assist, and screen unqualified Party members from the Party. Accordingly, from 2023 to present, the Van Don District Party Committee has reviewed and screened 17 Party members who violated the Party Charter or the Party's principles and regulations, of which 10 cases were removed from the list and 7 cases who submitted applications to leave the Party were expelled from the Party.
In parallel, every year, the Van Don District Party Committee regularly innovates and improves the quality of training and recruiting new Party members, contributing to strengthening the Party organization. From 2023 to present, the District Party Committee has recruited 138 new Party members, including 72 Party members developing in village and residential area Party cells and 4 Party members who are students at high schools in the area.
From the deployed tasks, through the assessment of quality and classification, in 2023, the entire district Party Committee had 16.13% of party organizations and grassroots units completing their tasks excellently; 77.42% of party organizations and grassroots units completing their tasks well; 3.2% completing their tasks and 3.2% not completing their tasks. The initial results achieved in implementing Resolution No. 16-NQ/HU have contributed to strengthening people's trust in local Party committees and authorities, creating motivation for the Van Don District Party Committee to continue to innovate, improve the quality of leadership and direction of party organizations, and build an increasingly clean and strong district Party Committee.
