Mr. Nguyen Tan Thinh - Director of the Department of Public Asset Management, Ministry of Finance said that the Party, State and Government have paid great attention to the management and use of public assets in recent times. The general inventory of public assets at agencies, organizations, units, and infrastructure assets invested and managed by the State aims to grasp the asset situation, serving many purposes, especially in the context of the current streamlining of the apparatus, understanding the actual status of assets to arrange, use, organize and re-handle surplus assets that are not needed is an urgent need.

“One of the key tasks to practice thrift and fight waste in 2025 is to successfully carry out a general inventory,” Mr. Thinh emphasized.

According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Thinh, the preparation for the general inventory nationwide is basically complete and will end on December 31, 2024. Regarding the implementation progress, according to the approved plan, by March 31, 2025, the units directly responsible for conducting the inventory must complete the actual counting of assets at the unit and prepare an inventory report. Before the deadline of April 15, 2025, the units directly conducting the inventory are responsible for reporting the results to the superior management agency.

“However, from now until March 31, 2025, there is not much time left. If there are no specific solutions, the causes cannot be identified, and lessons learned cannot be identified to have appropriate solutions, the possibility of slow progress is very high,” the Director of the Department of Public Asset Management emphasized.

In the coming time, to ensure that the general inventory is on schedule, Mr. Nguyen Tan Thinh requested localities to direct units to review and complete the inventory data entered into the general inventory software for the errors mentioned. At the same time, urge agencies, organizations, units, and enterprises that are inventory subjects under their management to complete the actual inventory work and enter data into the general inventory software, with the deadline for completion before March 31, 2025.

In addition, direct the direct superior management agencies of the inventory subjects to carefully review the logic and accuracy of the asset data before approving the inventory unit's report; in which, note common errors, the approval of the inventory report must be done promptly, immediately after the inventory subject submits the report on the software.
