(HTV) - On the morning of March 1, the French Navy's multi-mission frigate Provence, captained by Colonel Lionel Seigfried and 158 officers and sailors, docked at Bong Sen port, beginning a courtesy visit to Ho Chi Minh City from March 1 to March 7.

The welcoming ceremony at the port was chaired by Lieutenant Colonel Phan Anh Tuan, Deputy Commander of Brigade 125, Naval Region 2. During their visit to Ho Chi Minh City, the group of officers commanding the French Navy ship will pay courtesy visits to the leaders of the City People's Committee, the Military Region 7 Command and the Naval Region 2 Command; and exchange expertise with the Vietnam Naval Region 2 on fire prevention and fighting skills and anti-sinking shipwrecks.
In addition to professional cooperation activities, officers and sailors of the French Navy ship also participated in friendly sports activities with officers and soldiers of the Naval Region 2 Command and visited scenic spots and historical sites in Ho Chi Minh City, thereby enhancing understanding of Vietnamese culture and people.

This visit of the French Navy ship will contribute to promoting the cooperation between the two navies in particular, and the Vietnam-France defense relationship in general, to become increasingly deeper, more effective and practical.
