According to Android Authority , the latest version of YouTube on Android (19.25.33) has lines of code related to the video timer function, suggesting that this feature may be launched soon.
The video timer feature allows users to set a time to automatically stop playing videos after a certain period of time. This feature is especially useful for people who often watch videos before going to bed, helping to avoid the situation where the video continues to play after falling asleep.
YouTube Music already has a timer feature for music, but the main YouTube app on Android still lacks a similar feature. Given the large amount of relaxing videos and music on Google's video sharing platform, adding a timer feature for videos seems like a logical and much-anticipated move.
Although Google has not officially announced the launch date of this feature, the appearance of related lines of code in the latest update shows that it may be deployed soon in the near future.
