In any war, civilians are the ones who suffer the most. Ending the sight of long lines of refugees fleeing bombs in their homeland is certainly the wish of many peace-loving people in the world.

Two-state solution
According to hk01.com, over the years, the Israeli government has pursued a reconciliation plan with the Arab world for many periods. Under former US President Donald Trump, there was the Abraham Accords, in which Israel normalized diplomatic relations with Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates.
The administration of US President Joe Biden is also actively promoting the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia. In an interview during his attendance at the United Nations General Assembly last September, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that Israel and Saudi Arabia are getting closer to establishing diplomatic relations.
Moreover, as the US gradually stabilized relations with Iran through prisoner exchanges, Israel surprisingly responded by not voicing its opposition to US-Iranian diplomacy as it did during the negotiations of the nuclear deal under former President Barack Obama.
From these developments, it can be seen that Israel has realized that countries in the region are generally “fed up” with the disputes between Israel and Palestine. Even if the two-state solution is not implemented, as long as Israel appeases the Palestinians to a certain extent, its rapprochement with the Arab world will not be hindered, and the antagonism between Israel and Iran can be managed within acceptable limits.
Simply put, Israel, and even the Arab countries in the region, believe that the Palestinian issue is small enough to be put aside. However, the recent attack by the Islamic movement Hamas shows that the Palestinian issue, although small, is a time bomb that will explode continuously if not properly resolved.
If Israel changes its strategy of blockade of the Gaza Strip to sending troops to control the area, the conflict in the Gaza Strip will escalate further, at least in the form of a war in the Gaza Strip. Even if the Arab world stands aside, it will completely destroy Israel's geographical position.
According to observers, the two-state solution has always been the only solution to the problem between Israel and Palestine. After more than two decades, few people still truly believe that the two-state solution is realistic. However, no future direction and vision can bring lasting peace and harmony between Israel and Palestine like the two-state solution. If Israel only uses hard power to solve the problem, the conflict time bomb will continue to explode.
No matter who wins the new war in the Gaza Strip, the instability will continue for a long time.
Building trust
Last March, in a speech marking 12 years of the conflict in Syria, UN special envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen stressed that Syria had been devastated by conflict, divided and suffering from severe poverty.
“Without a comprehensive political solution – one that restores Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, allowing the Syrian people to determine their own future – the suffering of the Syrian people will continue,” Pedersen said.
According to Mr. Pedersen, the humanitarian assistance of the international community to Syria in the aftermath of the earthquake last February could be a hint at a turning point in the conflict in this country.
“We need to see a similar logic applied on the political front to help find a way forward. That is, incremental confidence-building measures, resuming and advancing substantive constitutional negotiations, and working towards a nationwide ceasefire,” Pedersen said.
Observers say that to resolve conflicts in the world today, there needs to be active and sincere participation from all parties involved, both domestic and foreign. Parties need to respect each other, compromise and cooperate to find a sustainable and fair solution for countries caught in conflict.
The monitoring role of international organizations such as the United Nations is very important, because these organizations will ensure the proper implementation of signed agreements. And most importantly, political solutions need the participation and choice of the people to build a peaceful, stable and developed future for their countries…
