Recently, American military expert David Axe assessed that the Ukrainian army in Kursk province (Russia) is facing losses in military equipment twice as fast as the front line in Donbass.

In an article on Forbes , expert Axe said that the Russian army destroyed Ukrainian armored vehicles through attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), artillery and air force.
Noting that the Ukrainian military could run out of equipment if its partners do not provide more, he wrote: “Ukraine is particularly acutely aware of the loss of equipment, including tracked armored fighting vehicles and wheeled transport vehicles. It is losing this valuable equipment almost twice as fast as normal.”
Earlier, on August 17, on his personal Facebook page , Lvov Province Mayor of Ukraine Andriy Sadovyi admitted: “The operation in Kursk Province has come at a high price. We need to be aware of this reality.”
Also on August 17, the New York Times quoted US officials as saying that the Ukrainian army continued to lose ground in Donbass because Ukraine had deployed reserve forces in the Kursk offensive.
Meanwhile, according to RIA Novosti, in the operation in Kursk, Kiev mainly used new military equipment, received from Western sponsors not only this year but also right before the attack. Specifically, Canadian Roshel Senator armored vehicles were delivered 10 days before Kiev launched the operation.
On August 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once again asked the West to speed up arms supplies to Kiev, with special emphasis on the UK, France and the US.
In a message posted on social media, the Ukrainian President admitted: “We ask our partners to speed up the transfer of weapons. We ask urgently.”
Since Russia launched its special military operation, Western countries have repeatedly increased arms supplies to Ukraine. Kiev has also repeatedly urged its partners to provide longer-range and more modern missile models.
Moscow has repeatedly stressed that the West's sending of weapons to Kiev and support for training the Ukrainian army only prolongs the conflict and does not change the situation on the battlefield.
