Military website Top War reported that in an interview with Chinese war correspondent Lu Yuguang, General Alaudinov affirmed that the Ukrainian army would fail at Kursk.
"I think that in the next 2-3 months all this will be completed, not only in the Kursk direction, but also in the entire Northern Military District," he said.
General Alaudinov, seen as a candidate to succeed Chechen leader Ramsan Kadyrov, has previously said the conflict would end this year with a complete Russian victory.
Regarding the situation in Kursk, Izvestia newspaper reported that Russia accused Ukraine of preparing the attack on the area with the support of US, UK and Polish intelligence - three member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Izvestia quoted Russia's foreign intelligence agency as saying that the units involved in the Kursk attack had trained and coordinated their combat operations at training centers in Britain and Germany. Although the Russian intelligence agency claimed to have reliable information about these allegations, it did not provide specific evidence.
Meanwhile, the US has insisted it had no prior knowledge or intelligence information to Ukraine regarding the attack on Kursk. Britain and Poland have not commented on the allegations.
Also on August 20, the Russian Foreign Ministry accused American reporters of illegally entering Kursk and spreading propaganda for Kiev. Moscow also presented evidence of the presence of American mercenaries in the Ukrainian armed forces.
The ministry's statement said these actions contradict the Biden administration's claim that it was not involved in Ukraine's attack on Russia.
Summoning US Charge d'Affaires S. Holmes to strongly protest the activities of the above reporters in Kursk province as well as accusing Washington of directly participating in the Moscow-Kiev conflict, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned that all "experts" and foreign mercenaries illegally crossing the border would become Moscow's legitimate military targets.
