(Dan Tri) - The ALP 2023 - 2024 program with the theme "Urban Rejuvenation" sets out a vision of creating quality living spaces in many scales and types of projects.

Recently, in Hanoi, under the professional sponsorship of the Vietnam Association of Architects, LIXIL Vietnam announced the ALP 2023-2024 program: "The future of Vietnam's living space" with the theme "Urban rejuvenation".

Following the success of ALP 2021-2022, this season's program focuses on researching 5 urgent topics in today's large cities.

Rapid economic development has transformed cities at a dizzying pace. This poses many challenges such as: How to build more competitive cities; rejuvenate cities to improve the quality of life; how to preserve identity and heritage while ensuring that cities adapt to the development of new economic spaces and scales... Do we really want to rejuvenate cities and commit together for a more livable future?

Sharing about this year's theme, Mr. Uchidate Katsuaki, General Director of LIXIL Vietnam, representative of the organizing committee, said: "ALP is a program initiated in 2016 with a long-term goal, demonstrating the social responsibility of the organizing committee and partners participating in the program.

Experts, architects, planners, managers and development policy makers have connected to find solutions to existing social problems.

"Urban rejuvenation" is one of those issues. We expect this topic to spark discussions, multi-dimensional perspectives from experts, and in-depth and thorough research throughout the ALP 2023-2024 program."

Representing the professional sponsoring unit, Architect Dang Kim Khoi - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Architects - shared: "Living space is an important aspect, changing over time depending on thinking, level of awareness, economic conditions, fluctuations in life, development of science and technology...

In contemporary architecture, that change is called "rejuvenation", understood as the partial or complete transformation, bringing new life to a building, a neighborhood, an urban area or an entire city.

With the theme "Urban Rejuvenation", this year's ALP program reaches many beneficiaries from citizens to architects, managers, investors...

I hope the program will contribute to improving the quality of life for the community, preserving and restoring the inherent values of social life in the context of economic development and rapid urbanization."

This year's ALP 2023-2024 program is implemented in a new way by offering 5 topics for participating units to research.

Based on the 5 topics, many companies and units operating in the fields of architecture and construction have expressed interest and submitted proposals with diverse approaches.

After a thorough evaluation process, the Advisory Board and the Organizing Committee of the ALP 2023-2024 Program have selected 5 official research units.

From these opinions, the research units had clear directions and adjusted them to suit the practical situation.

The topics of the 5 official research units have undergone rounds of consultation, orientation exchange, and careful comments. The topics will be implemented and receive feedback in the mid-term workshop taking place on October 25 to continue in-depth research and completion.

The results of the research projects will be announced at the Final Workshop and introduced to the public through the ALP Pavilion 2023-2024 Exhibition scheduled to take place in March 2024.

Architecture Leader Perspective (ALP) was initiated and organized since 2016 with the aim of connecting and developing the architecture - design community, aiming at long-term goals, while demonstrating the social responsibility of the organizers and partners participating in the program.

ALP implements activities to support the development and connection of the architecture - design - construction community on a national scale.
