Gia Lai Culture - Tourism Week 2023 will take place from November 11 to November 19 with the festival space expanding from Pleiku City to the "scenic area" of Chu Pah or up to the Ia Grai border, with the A Sanh Cup dugout canoe racing festival on the legendary Po Co river, with the Gong Culture Festival, the Chu Dang Ya Wild Sunflower-Volcano Festival, the "Gia Lai City Trail 2023 - Dream of the Great Forest" Race and the Pleiku City Culture and Tourism Festival... promising to be an emotional journey of connection like a rich, unique and attractive feast.
Gia Lai, with favorable natural conditions, has a very important strategic position in the socio-economic development and national defense and security of the Central Highlands, is the gateway for economic, cultural and social exchanges with the Central Coast provinces, the Southeast and with countries in the region, especially Cambodia and Laos. Diverse terrain and temperate climate have created for Gia Lai majestic natural landscapes in the middle of the great forest such as: Bien Ho, Ia Ly Lake, Ayun Ha Lake, Phu Cuong Waterfall, Waterfall 50, Chu Dang Ya Volcano, the special national relic of the Tay Son Thuong Dao Relic Complex, the archaeological relic of the Old Stone Age, Roc Tung - Go Da, an archaeological relic proving the place where the first traces of humans on the territory of Vietnam - from the early Stone Age, dating back about 800,000 years... and a rich flora and fauna ecosystem with the special characteristics of the Central Highlands forest in the Kon Ha Nung Plateau World Biosphere Reserve.

The opening event of Gia Lai Culture - Tourism Week 2023 is the Gong Culture Festival with the theme "Gia Lai - Cultural Colors", the festival is an event to honor the value of the gong cultural space and the spirit of inheritance and creativity of the Central Highlands ethnic communities - the owners of the heritage. This will be the convergence and return of the representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity in the mountain town of Pleiku - where 18 years ago, the ceremony to receive the UNESCO recognition certificate for the Central Highlands gong cultural space took place. People and tourists will live in a festive atmosphere with the sparkling colors of the world cultural heritage.
Besides the outstanding natural advantages, the culture of the two ethnic minorities that make up the majority in Gia Lai, the Jrai and Bahnar, is truly unique, clearly expressed through customs, practices, architecture, festivals, music, sculpture, folklore, cuisine, costumes, etc. The space of gong culture - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity recognized by UNESCO, combined with a series of historical relics and unique religious spiritual sites, has created its own strengths for Gia Lai to develop the following types: eco-tourism, resort, 3 cultural - historical tourism and community tourism to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

Gia Lai Culture and Tourism Week 2023 with many rich activities such as: Trade fair and introduction of typical agricultural products; Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Volcano in Ia Gri Village, volcanic area of Chu Dang Ya Commune, Chu Pah District; Pleiku City Cultural Tourism Festival at Bien Ho Scenic Relic Site, Bien Ho Commune; Ia Grai District Gong Culture Festival in Dang Village, Ia O Commune, Ia Grai District; Display and exhibition of Central Highlands musical instruments; art photos of Gia Lai culture; introduction of special national relics and national treasures of Gia Lai Province; Gia Lai Coffee Space: Farm to Cup and Gia Lai Brocade Space; Gia Lai tour experience program - Tours such as visiting Chu Dang Ya volcano, T'Nueng Lake, Tea Lake, hundred-year-old pine trees, Buu Minh pagoda, visiting Ia Ly Hydropower Plant, learning about Jrai culture in Kep village, visiting ancient stone stream, Chu Pah district, visiting Mo waterfall, Se San lake, Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Academy, Minh Thanh pagoda.

In particular, from November 16 to November 19, there will be a series of events such as the dugout canoe race on the Po Co River to compete for the A Sanh Cup and the Ia Grai District Gong Culture Festival, Traditional Costume Performance, Folk Dance Competition, Exhibition and Introduction of Local Product Characteristics; Pleiku Cultural Tourism Festival; Fair to display and promote typical cultural, tourism, culinary and OCOP products; Gong Performance... Compared to the Central Highlands provinces, Gia Lai still retains its originality, not much affected by rapid economic and social development. Traditional culture still exists in many ethnic minority villages. This has created a Gia Lai that is difficult to confuse and truly special.
