Accordingly, the most searched keyword in the second quarter of 2023 was “power outage”. This new search trend stems from the local power shortage in the North during the hot days at the end of June 2023.
Along with that, the demand for purchasing devices with the ability to store electricity for backup has increased, so the number of searches for products such as "rechargeable fans" and "home generators" has increased dramatically, reaching 97 and 73 times higher, respectively, compared to the first quarter of 2023.
Meanwhile, the international figure leading the search trend is BlackPink. The event of BlackPink announcing their performance schedule in Hanoi has created a "fever" among Vietnamese youth. "Blinks" (a general term for BlackPink fans) are all rushing to hunt for tickets to have the opportunity to "follow their idol" live at My Dinh National Stadium at the end of July.
In the country, ACB Chairman Tran Hung Huy is a figure that "caused a storm on the internet" after dancing and singing in the rain at the company's 30th anniversary celebration. Entertainment maintained its “throne” as it continued to be the most popular search topic in the second quarter. This topic accounted for 28% on the Coc Coc search engine. In the film group, “Bac si Cha” and “Lat mat 6” were the two keywords that topped TV series and movies in theaters, respectively. As for TV shows, the two positions in the top trending searches were “Ty ty dap gio rou song season 4” and “Rap Viet season 3”.
The runner-up position belongs to the Education topic, with 26% of total searches because the second quarter of 2023 is the time when the 10th grade entrance exam and national high school graduation take place.
Ranked third in popularity with 25% of total searches is the technology topic. In particular, the number of queries for the keyword “ChatGPT” decreased by 6% even though this was the top keyword in the first quarter of 2023.
The keyword “poe.com” appeared in the top trending keywords for the first time. And keywords like: “AI Chat/AI Search” saw a growth of up to 101%. This shows that users tend to be more interested in ChatGPT alternatives.
