Releasing solo music products after separating from YG, Jisoo's international achievements are the worst among Blackpink members.
According to Spotify's announcement, the newly released song "Earthquake" by Jisoo (Blackpink) debuted at number 110 on the global Spotify chart on February 14 with 1,878,424 streams.
A day later (February 15), “Earthquake” dropped to 111th place with 1,627,284 streams.
With these numbers, Jisoo is currently the member with the lowest international debut solo song in the group. Blackpink, since the 4 female idols separated from YG Entertainment (late 2023).
Lisa debuted “Rockstar” on Spotify globally with 5.89 million streams (#8), “New Woman” (featuring Rosalía) with 6 million streams (#4), “Moonlit Floor” with 4.48 million streams (#9), and most recently “Born Again” (featuring Doja Cat, Raye) with 6.26 million streams (#6).
Jennie debuted “Mantra” on Spotify globally with 5.24 million streams (#5), “Love Hangover” (featuring Dominic Fike) reached 2.88 million streams (#30).
Meanwhile, the Bruno Mars collaboration hit Rose - “APT.” has the highest debut achievement in the Blackpink group with 6.85 million streams (ranked 3rd). The song “Number one girl” debuted with 3.07 million streams (ranked 31st), “Toxic till the end” reached 3.83 million streams (ranked 24th).
Jisoo’s mini album “Amortage” only reached 5.25 million streams on its first day of release on Spotify. This achievement is far behind Rosé’s album “rosie” with 28.07 million streams - setting a record for the biggest debut by a female Kpop solo artist in Spotify chart history.
Jisoo’s international achievements were already modest compared to those of Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé. But the fact that “Earthquake” failed to reach 2 million streams at launch was disappointing.
Although Jisoo released the song on Valentine's Day and had many promotional activities before returning to the music scene.
Jisoo’s mini album “Amortage” includes 4 songs “Earthquake”, “Tears”, “Your Love”, “Hugs & Kisses”, of which “Earthquake” is the title song with a music video released on YouTube. Jisoo participated in writing the lyrics for all the songs in this mini album.
Jisoo’s performance on Korean charts was also not as expected. In the first hour, “Earthquake” only reached 73rd place on Bugs chart and 242nd place on Genie, failing to enter Melon Top 100 - the top domestic chart.
As of 9am on February 17, "Earthquake" is ranked 73rd on Melon Top 100, 39th on Genie, 12th on Bugs and 87th on Flo.
On forums, Jisoo’s album was criticized as old and boring, and her voice and technique were also criticized. Many people said that Jisoo released the album “Amortage” too hastily and lacked investment.
