Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Van Hoa - founder of Nguyen Binh Khiem High Quality Education System (Hanoi) said that a happy school is not a concept, nor a model.
This is a concept that implies the way a school is run to achieve educational goals for the progress of students.
"Happy school is not a model, because if it were a model, it would not be open, and building according to the model would be difficult for schools in different regions" - Dr. Nguyen Van Hoa emphasized.
A happy school is achieved when we change school operations with the goal of educating for human development, for people. “A happy school is a warm atmosphere in the relationship between people and people” - Dr. Nguyen Van Hoa expressed.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, a happy school is a place where students, teachers, and staff feel safe, loved, respected, understood, and valued.
A happy school is a way of running a school, where students feel happy and become an internal motivation for students to be interested in learning and being creative. How to make each student progress and become a good person.
Discussing the 5 steps to building a happy school, Dr. Nguyen Van Hoa shared: First, recognize and determine the mission, goals and motto of educating students.
Second, recognize and choose the educational path you are pursuing - the path of building a happy school.
Third, understand, adjust and change themselves, school managers/leaders, teachers and school staff.
Fourth, identify and equip teachers and staff with the necessary groups of competencies, skills, and secrets to build a Happy School to realize the chosen educational goals and missions.
Fifth, evaluate, assess and update processes and practices, and promote and adjust promptly/when necessary.
