Dalat University will be accredited according to AUN-QA standards

On November 18, Dalat University (Lam Dong) organized a meeting program "Da Lat University - proud of 65 years of formation and development".

Speaking at the program, Dr. Le Minh Chien, Principal of the school, said that Dalat University (formerly Dalat University Institute) has gone through 65 years of formation and development.

In each period, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, the collective of Dalat University has recorded very proud milestones for its important contributions to the education and training career in the Central Highlands - South Central region in particular and the whole country in general, as well as affirming the solid position of the school today.

Also according to Dr. Le Minh Chien, from the correct perception of the opportunities and challenges for university education in the country and the world, the school has proposed and successfully implemented solutions to fundamentally, synchronously and comprehensively innovate activities towards standardization and internationalization.

Up to now, the school has 58 training majors (7 PhD majors, 10 master's majors, 41 university majors); stable training scale with more than 12,000 students, trainees and postgraduates, and the school has also been an official member of the international CDIO organization since 2017.

The school focuses on innovating the curriculum and teaching methods towards applying CDIO output standards, promoting the application of information technology in teaching, to ensure that students are equipped with comprehensive knowledge, skills, and attitudes, better meeting the increasing demands of the labor market in the context of globalization.

At the same time, the school has established comprehensive cooperative relationships with localities, departments and relevant sectors of the Central Highlands provinces and neighboring areas. The school's international cooperation has gone into depth and has been practically effective when it has established relationships with many international training and research institutions, especially partners from the US, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, etc.

In August 2019, the school achieved university quality accreditation according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training; in April 2020, the school officially became an associate member of the Southeast Asian University Quality Assurance Network.

By 2019, the school achieved educational quality accreditation and to date the school has had 5 university-level training programs accredited according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training, and 5 programs meeting AUN-QA international standards.

"These results have contributed to improving the quality of training and scientific research of the school and deserve to be the leading prestigious educational institution in the Central Highlands," said Dr. Le Minh Chien.

Also at this meeting, Mr. Tran Dinh Van, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Lam Dong province, acknowledged: "The school has firmly affirmed its training quality and reputation. The school has made an important contribution to training and providing high-quality human resources for the locality in particular. At the same time, the school has also established and maintained good cooperative relationships in scientific research and technology transfer with units and localities in the province. These results have contributed significantly to the economic, social and cultural development of Lam Dong province".

Dalat University has set a goal of becoming a university accredited according to the standards of the Southeast Asian University Quality Assurance Network by 2030; expanding its scale, comprehensively improving its quality, and developing into Dalat University with 3 member schools.
