On December 13, at the Government Office, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and his wife this time demonstrates the importance of the Chinese Party and State to Vietnam, the Vietnam-China relationship and the fine tradition of frequent visits between high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two countries. General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping highly appreciated the specific and practical contributions of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to promoting cooperation in all fields between the two countries. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will, together with the State Council of China, strengthen coordination and urge all levels, sectors and localities to materialize the achievements and high-level common perceptions. Reviewing the important developments and achievements of substantive cooperation between the two countries in recent times, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh outlined six key directions for cooperation, including: One is to strengthen strategic exchanges and close communication at high and all levels. Two is to further promote the important role of the pillar of defense and security cooperation. Three is to improve the effectiveness of substantive cooperation in all fields, suggesting that China continue to expand the import of Vietnamese goods, agricultural and aquatic products, and smoothly deploy smart border gates; Further promote investment in Vietnam, especially to soon have large, typical projects in areas where China has strengths in high technology and green transformation; strengthen connectivity of strategic infrastructure, transport infrastructure, and border gate connectivity; Propose to soon establish a working group to completely resolve obstacles in a number of long-standing backlog projects; Speed up the implementation of non-refundable aid projects, expand financial and monetary cooperation, contribute to promoting investment and facilitating trade activities; study the establishment of a working group on promoting tourism recovery between the two countries. General Secretary and President Xi Jinping suggested that the two sides accelerate strategic connectivity, effectively implement the Cooperation Plan connecting the framework of "Two Corridors, One Belt" with the "Belt and Road" initiative, strengthen substantive cooperation in various fields, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries; highly appreciated the achievements of cooperation in recent times.
