The 5G-A Villa is a prototype for a future smart home with a network speed of 10Gbps. This is a product of cooperation between Huawei and the carrier of Emirates Telecommunications Company (EITC). The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 5.5G cooperation, focusing on technology innovation, application exploration, and ecosystem development around 5G-A in early March 2023.
Villas integrate technologies such as Naked-Eye-3D and Extended Reality (XR), providing a smart home experience. The increasing demand for user experience drives the development and innovation of new content and applications, thereby increasing the demand for network connectivity. To meet this, network operators have had to amplify home networks to 10Gbps speeds.
Mr. Fahad Al Hassawi – CEO of du – said that Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology helps bring limitless experiences and impressive Internet connectivity in every home. Meanwhile, Mr. Li Peng – Senior Vice President and President of Huawei Mobile Networks Business Group called the 5G-A villa a testament to the limitless capabilities that 5G-A technology will bring to users and smart homes in the future.
As the world moves to 5G-A/5.5G, FWA solutions – including FWA Pro, FWA Lite and FWA Biz – are expected to deliver the best services to customers. In particular, FWA Pro is designed to support 10Gbps network speeds, thereby helping to simulate smart living spaces and bring more business opportunities.
Themed “Bringing 5.5G to Life”, MBBF 2023 will take place from October 10 to 11 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
