The exhibition of portraits of children by artist Nguyen Anh Vu is based on memories and a different perspective in the artist's experiences after nearly 20 years of artistic activities, notes from field trips during his student days to his social activities up to the present time.

The exhibition evokes thoughts about joy and happiness in every look and smile of children from the reality of life. The realities in the world through the eyes of children are freedom, blending with nature and people to find happiness. The tight compositions, strong color blocks, simple but concise shapes, romantic qualities with the shy lines of the floating hair, the golden sunlight on the mountains but leaving deep impressions. Life in the eyes of children is bright and clear, it is freedom, blending with nature and people to learn, life is reflected in those looks full of love. It seems to pull us, adults, to have moments of slowing down, to recall happiness.

The solo exhibition of artist Nguyen Anh Vu was organized and coordinated with the Poor Students Fund in the Highlands at the Com Co Thit Club. This is an artistic activity to raise funds and spread love so that the whole community can actively join hands to improve the lives of poor students in difficult circumstances, mainly in the highlands, and other students with special difficulties. The purpose of the fundraiser is to give gifts to students, teachers, and people in natural disaster areas and areas with sudden difficulties, helping to improve material and spiritual conditions so that students in the highlands and especially difficult areas can go to school regularly and achieve better academic results; connecting the community in volunteer activities.

According to journalist Tran Dang Tuan (Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fund for Poor Children in the Highlands), “The coordination of organizing this art exhibition is with the hope of creating a more regular activity to promote and expand ideas about social responsibility to more people, helping to spread love that makes many people's lives more meaningful. With the motto "Love given is love that lasts forever", let's choose people - choose places to love, to love, to share. And those are the good and gentle children in the highlands, living in poor places, helping them to have less difficulty when going to school. Let's feel joy and happiness with them through small contributions - little but regular. Love is always enough for everyone. The love we give is the love we keep for ourselves forever.''

Sharing with TG&VN Newspaper before the exhibition, artist Nguyen Anh Vu said: “This is a long-cherished wish that needs to be fulfilled when I return to the art of painting. Through nearly 30 works, I have also turned back the pages of my own memories when I first saw the highland children huddled in the frost receiving warm clothes from volunteers, and eating hot meals at school cooked by us. Let's temporarily put aside the dirty, shy, and bewildered images to quietly feel the clear eyes, the radiant smiles and together recall the innocent moments of our childhood."

The proceeds from the sale of artworks during the exhibition will be donated by artist Nguyen Anh Vu to the Poor Students Fund in the Highlands on behalf of the collectors. The funds raised from fundraising activities will be allocated and supported in addition to the funds to supplement nutrition for meals in schools in mountainous and extremely disadvantaged areas. Support the construction of classrooms, dormitories, kitchens, necessary learning materials and supplies for students, and means to improve the spiritual life of students and teachers in mountainous areas. Organize donation and fundraising activities in many forms. The amount will be transparently announced on the official website of the Poor Students Fund in the Highlands and updated daily in real time.

The exhibition is open to the public free of charge from November 15, 2023 to January 15, 2024.
