This is an activity towards the 25th anniversary of Hoi An Ancient Town being recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage (December 4, 1999 - December 4, 2024).
The exhibition displays 20 watercolor paintings of the ancient town of Hoi An in 1984 - 1985, the period when artist Luu Cong Nhan lived in Hoi An.
These works were donated by artist Luu Cong Nhan to Hoi An City and the Hoi An Cultural Heritage Management and Conservation Center to preserve and promote their long-term value.
Many art researchers and artists believe that with his wonderfully skillful paintings depicting Hoi An, painter Luu Cong Nhan is considered a "master of watercolor painting".
The exhibition "Hoi An Heritage through paintings by artist Luu Cong Nhan" runs until December 5, 2024.
Painter Luu Cong Nhan was born on August 17, 1930 in Phu Tho and died on July 21, 2007 in Da Lat. He graduated from the Viet Bac Resistance Fine Arts School, 1950-1953, also known as the Anti-French Resistance Fine Arts Course; the school was headed by the famous painter To Ngoc Van.
