Baoquocte.vn. On the afternoon of October 22, the award ceremony and opening ceremony of the "Historical Echoes" painting contest of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam took place in Hanoi.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), the Center for Scientific and Cultural Activities of the Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy organizes the "Historical Echoes" painting contest of the Temple of Literature - Imperial Academy.
The contest is open to students from art and design schools nationwide and artists aged 18-35.
The contest aims to inspire passion, creativity, express ideas and artistic talents of young people, and at the same time encourage students to be interested in and learn about the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam in particular and cultural heritage in general.
After two months of launching, the contest received nearly 200 paintings with diverse materials from oil, silk, wood carving, iron pen to acrylic and watercolor...
The entries show a diversity of perspectives, stories, ideas and expressive materials. Architectural images such as the Temple of Literature Gate, Khue Van Cac, the Doctorate Stele House and typical motifs such as sword heads, dragons, phoenixes, turtles, etc. become materials for the contestants to exploit and express their creative and elaborate works.
Many works are creative in content, exploiting the theme of "Historical echoes" through different languages and materials. This is the success of the contest.
The jury, consisting of associate professors, doctors, masters, and lecturers from universities specializing in fine arts, architecture, sculpture, etc., worked seriously and impartially to select the best works.
Each work expresses its own content but all contain the creative spirit and love for the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam in particular and Vietnam's cultural heritage in general.
The jury conducted two rounds of judging. The preliminary round was judged online, selecting 70 works for the final round.

All 70 finalists were exhibited at the Front Hall, Thai Hoc yard, and the Temple of Literature from October 22-31. The jury selected 17 of the best works to win prizes.
The watercolor work “Dong su” by Nguyen Anh Tai (born in 1999) was awarded the first prize. In addition, there were 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, 10 consolation prizes, 1 special prize and 1 special prize ViA watercolor painting tools.
Commenting on the entries to this year's competition, architect Bui Thanh Viet Hung, a member of the jury, said that the entries showed diversity in perspectives, stories, ideas, and expressive materials.
Dr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, expressed his hope that the contest will be a bridge between the past and contemporary life, between young people and the thousand-year heritage of their ancestors.
