(CLO) On the afternoon of November 7, in Hanoi, the Central Organizing Committee held a meeting of the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award to implement the Plan to organize the Announcement Ceremony and Award Ceremony of the 9th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award - 2024.

Comrade Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organizing Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award chaired the Conference. At the Conference, comrade Phan Thang An, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Award, announced the decisions to establish the Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the 9th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award - 2024; Plan 207-KH/BTCTW dated October 29, 2024 of the Central Organizing Committee on organizing the Announcement and Award Ceremony of the 9th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award - 2024.

Comrade Phan Thang An said that, implementing the direction of Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Party Central Committee in Official Dispatch No. 11772-CV/VPTW dated October 19, 2024 of the Party Central Committee Office, the Central Organizing Committee has developed an Implementation Plan. Reporting on the results of the implementation of the organization of the 9th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award - 2024, comrade Ngo Minh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of the Party Building Magazine (Standing Agency of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award) said that through receiving early submissions to the Standing Agency of the Award, it was shown that the entries to the 2024 Golden Hammer and Sickle Award in central and local press agencies continued to be rich in themes and genres.

Most of the works have closely followed hot issues, outstanding events, and key tasks of the political system and the country. Many works have deeply reflected the current issues of Party building and rectification work, the situation and results of the 4-year implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress along with the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term and the resolutions of the 13th Central Executive Committee.

In addition, many works have discovered and pointed out the shortcomings, limitations, and "bottlenecks" in implementing the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2030 and in implementing the 6 key tasks of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress. Comrade Ngo Minh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of the Party Building Magazine, said that, closely following the direction of the Award Steering Committee, the Organizing Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award has established a Preliminary Council and a Final Council with a new, comprehensive structure, increasing the representation of all fields, ensuring more neutrality and objectivity.

Speaking at the Conference, Comrade Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organizing Committee, Head of the Steering Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award emphasized: The announcement and awarding ceremony of the 9th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award - 2024 is an event of important political significance to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding.

Accordingly, he requested the Central Organizing Committee to closely coordinate with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association and press agencies: Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine, Vietnam Television and relevant agencies (Ministry of Public Security, Central Committee for Protection and Health Care of Officials, Hanoi People's Committee) to achieve results with a high sense of responsibility for the tasks stated in Plan No. 207-KH/BTCTW of the Central Organizing Committee.

To make the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award truly meaningful and widespread, comrade Le Minh Hung requested the Preliminary Council and the Final Council to be impartial, objective, fair and serious in selecting works that are truly worthy of being awarded. Agencies and units coordinate to complete the script and reports on the Award; do a good job of propaganda before, during and after the Award Ceremony, and promote the winning works on mass media to create a widespread effect among cadres, party members and people.
