Building and developing Quang Nam to become a model for the whole country

(NLDO) - From a province among the poorest in the country, Quang Nam has risen to become a fairly developed province in the region, contributing to the central budget.

On the evening of March 24, Quang Nam province solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Quang Nam Province Liberation Day (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025) and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee (March 28, 1930 - March 28, 2025).

Speaking at the ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia said that exactly 50 years ago, under the direct leadership and direction of the Zone 5 Party Committee and the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee, together with the main force, the army and people of Quang Nam achieved glorious feats of arms, completely liberating Quang Nam province, contributing significantly to the victory of the Great Spring Victory in 1975, completely ending the resistance war against the US to save the country, liberating the South, and unifying the country.

This is a brilliant milestone in the history of the province's revolutionary struggle, demonstrating the indomitable will, deep patriotism and immortal solidarity of the people of Quang Nam.

After the country's reunification, the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Nam focused on overcoming the consequences of war, stabilizing life, carrying out socialist reforms, and implementing the Party's renewal policy with steps appropriate to the specific characteristics and conditions of the locality.

Overcoming the difficulties in the early days of re-establishment of the province (in 1997), up to now, after 28 years of re-establishment, Quang Nam has had positive, comprehensive and profound changes in socio-economic development.

From a province in the poorest group of the country, having to receive over 70% of the central budget subsidy, Quang Nam has now become a fairly developed province in the region, contributing to the central budget.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia warmly commended and congratulated the achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of Quang Nam have achieved in the glorious historical journey of the past 95 years.

The Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission assessed that today's achievements are the crystallization of patriotism, indomitable will, solidarity, perseverance, and constant creativity of the Party Committee and all the people of Quang Nam.

However, he said that the road ahead still has many difficulties and challenges; requiring us to look to the future with new efforts, determination and aspirations.

"I believe that Quang Nam will continue to promote its cultural identity and glorious revolutionary tradition, make the most of its potential and advantages, focus on accelerating and making breakthroughs in all fields to build and develop its homeland in a comprehensive, modern, sustainable direction and become a model for the whole country" - Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia expected.

To achieve that, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia has outlined a number of major orientations and key tasks that Quang Nam Party Committees, authorities and people should focus on implementing in the coming time.

According to Mr. Triet, the historical milestones and achievements in the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Provincial Party Committee and 50 years of the liberation of the homeland are the premise, foundation, motivation and valuable luggage for the Party Committee and the People of Quang Nam to be excited, proud and confident on the journey ahead...

Through the revolutionary periods under the leadership of the Party, Quang Nam has more than 65,400 martyrs; tens of thousands of wounded and sick soldiers; more than 15,300 heroic Vietnamese mothers; is the locality with the largest number of martyrs, wounded and heroic Vietnamese mothers in the country.

On the afternoon of March 24, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia and the working delegation visited and offered incense and flowers at the Martyrs' Cemetery of Quang Nam province and the Monument of Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Thu, and burned incense at the graves of heroic martyrs.

With great contributions in the resistance war as well as in peace, Quang Nam was honored to be awarded many noble titles by the Party and State, such as: Gold Star Medal (for Quang Nam - Da Nang province in 1985), Ho Chi Minh Medal in 2010, First Class Independence Medal in 2017, Third Class Labor Medal in 2020... and many other noble awards and titles.
