Promoting cooperation in the fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence

On March 28, 2025 in the Czech Republic, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment Le Quang Huy and the delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, led by Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong, had an important working session with the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade. This meeting not only strengthened the cooperative relationship between the two countries but also opened up opportunities for extensive cooperation in the fields of advanced technology, innovation and industrial development.

Promote cooperative relationships

With the aim of not only enhancing economic relations but also enhancing mutual understanding on strategic issues, the meeting clarified key cooperation directions in the context of the global economy undergoing a strong technological shift.

Chairman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Le Quang Huy emphasized that sharing legislative and policy experiences on technology is a key factor in promoting new technology fields. Vietnam can learn and apply advanced models from the Czech Republic to build technology infrastructure and develop a knowledge-based economy.

Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong also shared his views on the importance of cooperation between the two countries in the field of technology, and emphasized Vietnam's commitment to creating a favorable investment environment for Czech companies, especially in high-tech industries. Vietnam is not only a large market but also an important partner in the Czech Republic's development strategy in Southeast Asia.

Overview of the working session

Semiconductor Technology - The Future of Collaboration

One of the important highlights of the meeting was the special attention paid to the semiconductor technology sector. The Czech side presented the national semiconductor development strategy, an area in which the country is placing high expectations to promote industrial development in the coming years. Experts from the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade affirmed that semiconductor technology is the basis for the development of industries such as electronics, telecommunications, automobiles, and even the defense industry.

The Czech Republic also shared its experience in developing semiconductor research and manufacturing infrastructure, and pledged to cooperate with Vietnam in transferring semiconductor technology, especially in developing new-generation semiconductor devices to serve the needs of the ICT, automotive and other supporting industries. Vietnam, with its strengths in manufacturing electronic components, can absolutely become a strategic partner of the Czech Republic in developing global supply chains in this field.

AI and Quantum Technology - The Way Forward

In addition to semiconductor technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum technology are also key areas that the two sides focused on exchanging. Representatives from the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade shared that AI and quantum technology will be indispensable technologies in the development of key industries of the two countries in the future.

The Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, in its leading role, has implemented a series of research and technology transfer projects to put AI and quantum technologies into practical application in key sectors such as healthcare, transport and manufacturing.

The Czech government has also pledged to support Vietnam in implementing AI and quantum technology initiatives, thereby helping the two countries keep up with global technology development trends. Vietnam, with its need to apply AI in various industries, has been developing policies to support AI research and application, creating great opportunities for Czech technology companies.

Cooperation in many fields

In addition to semiconductor and AI technology, the Czech Republic also shared its achievements in cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of information security, mining, automobile manufacturing, energy and supporting industries. These fields not only help promote Vietnam's industrial development but also create opportunities for exchange and cooperation between businesses of the two countries.

Renewable energy and automobile manufacturing are two areas that the Czech side pays special attention to, with advanced technologies and solutions being applied in many European countries. Czech experts have proposed implementing cooperation projects with Vietnam to develop clean energy technologies and vehicles using renewable energy, meeting the growing demand for environmental protection and sustainable development.

At the end of the meeting, the Vietnamese side officially invited the Czech Republic to organize the Digital Technology Business Forum in Vietnam, creating opportunities for Czech and Vietnamese businesses to meet, exchange and seek cooperation opportunities. The Czech side welcomed this initiative and committed to sending a large business delegation, not only in the semiconductor sector but also in high-tech industries such as ICT, AI, VR to attend.

The meeting opened up opportunities for long-term cooperation in the fields of technology, innovation and industrial development. This is an important step in promoting bilateral cooperation, contributing to the sustainable development and prosperity of both countries./.
