In 2024, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs organized 20 conferences with more than 1,297 people and 9 dialogue programs with more than 3,150 participants on communication, consulting, supplying and introducing jobs in the province, domestically and abroad for people in the province. Provided guidance to businesses on procedures for granting, re-issuing and extending work permits, certificates of non-work permit issuance for foreigners working in Quang Tri province. Created jobs for 14,700 workers (118% of the assigned plan), of which 6,299 worked in the province; 5,367 worked outside the province and 3,034 workers worked abroad.

Vocational training institutions have enrolled and trained 9,596 people, contributing to increasing the rate of trained workers and the rate of trained workers with degrees. In 2025, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will continue to effectively implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, striving to reduce the poverty rate by 1% - 1.5%. Continuing to mobilize all legal resources, the Gratitude Fund will effectively implement social policies and preferential policies for people with revolutionary contributions; taking good care of the material and spiritual lives of all classes of people and children in special circumstances.
Timely implement the State's social protection subsidy policies, mobilize resources to support families in difficult circumstances, single-parent households, poor and near-poor households, people affected by natural disasters, epidemics, people in remote areas, islands, ethnic minority areas and mountainous areas. Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam emphasized that, implementing the merger policy, the state management function of labor, wages, employment, meritorious people, occupational safety and hygiene, social insurance, and gender equality will be transferred to the Department of Home Affairs; the state management function of vocational education will be transferred to the Department of Education and Training; the state management function of social protection, children, and social evil prevention will be transferred to the Department of Health; and the poverty reduction function will be transferred to the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee.
The provincial leaders have given strong instructions, the spirit is that the focal points after the arrangement do not overlap, ensuring better and more effective operations, so the sectors in the province, including the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, must have high determination and make great efforts to complete the set schedule. Each organization, each cadre and civil servant must join hands with the spirit of the common task, for the development of the homeland and the country. It is necessary to unify the perception that the arrangement must be associated with streamlining, ensuring effective, efficient and effective operations.
The implementation process must ensure initiative, unity, consensus, openness, and democracy. Department leaders need to do a good job of political and ideological work so that the staff, civil servants, and public employees after the arrangement can work with peace of mind, without negativity, dissatisfaction, or discouragement; at the same time, they can promote their capacity and work experience at the new agency.
