Accordingly, the Customs Department reorganized 16 units previously under the General Department of Customs into 12 units under the department, including the Office, functional departments and 3 specialized branches. These units continued to perform their tasks according to their existing functions, while also receiving additional tasks from the merged units.
At the regional Customs Sub-Department level, the previous 35 provincial and municipal Customs Departments were reorganized into 20 regional Customs Sub-Departments (numbered from I to XX), undertaking the function of state management of customs. custom in the area of responsibility. Each Sub-Department has an average of no more than 8 affiliated units.
Regarding the Customs at the border gate/outside the border gate level, the current Customs Sub-Departments are reorganized into Customs at the border gate/outside the border gate, inheriting the tasks and powers of the old units. The number of these units is determined to be no more than 165 nationwide.
