From March 18-21, Ho Chi Minh City Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology implemented a school dentistry program following the school-station model in Kon Tum province.
Doctors and nurses examined, treated, and provided dental care for 2,300 students at three schools: Mang Den Primary School, Le Quy Don Primary School, and Nguy Nhu Pedagogical Practice Primary School.

On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology donated 6 sets of mobile dental equipment to Kon Tum Provincial Center for Disease Control.
According to Dr. Le Trung Chanh, Director of the Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City, to implement this school dentistry program, in 2024, the Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City trained 15 students who are grassroots medical staff and school medical staff in Kon Tum province. These 15 students were sponsored by the hospital for all expenses for accommodation and study at the hospital. The students were trained and instructed in basic oral pathology, emergency dental care, and techniques for preventing tooth decay, etc.
"I believe that we will successfully implement this model to bring beautiful teeth, beautiful smiles and a bright future to students in Kon Tum province," shared Dr. Le Trung Chanh.
Kon Tum is the 4th province in Ho Chi Minh City to implement a school dentistry program following the school-station model, but is the first province in the Central Highlands region to implement this model.
Previously, the Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City implemented a school dentistry program following the school-station model in Vinh Long, Ben Tre and Ho Chi Minh City.

The school dental program, tooth decay prevention for students according to the school-station model under Project 5628 approved by the Ministry of Health, aims to improve the capacity of dental examination and treatment and oral disease prevention in the community in the period of 2021-2030. In which, the Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology, Ho Chi Minh City is assigned to be in charge of implementing the project in the south.
